What kind of software is required and what is a good free/basic option?

The cheap one I bought came with a QR code to download software.
So, I went to google store and typed-in "borescope app"
Downloaded the first one and it works.

I should have mentioned for Windows.

Got it running on Win10 and it's not of enough resolution to really see any detail in a rifle bore, so probably
not going to help looking into engine bores either.

You might just be able to use the built in windows "camera" app, I do that on a mini tablet/laptop I have for the purpose.

ETA mine is very particular with focal length, have to adjust it for every bore.
