Is it my imagination or does Hollywood almost not even bother making comedies anymore? I look at the movie listings for the theaters week after week and it seems like comedies are few and far between. Nobody knows how to lighten up anymore. And people think we are not headed for a civil war? View Quote |

Comedy is dead.
The only funny comedians left are the ones being squeezed out of work by the snowflake brigade. |

If you're "scarred" by watching a crude comedy, then you're broken, and can't be fixed.

Cool Starry Bra time.
About 10 years ago, when I first started working the job I work now, I was on a sort of engineering/technician crew that did field repairs on items. We were a crew of about 6 people, all friendly and various ages. We would randomly joke around and quote Blazing Saddles, among other movies. No punches were pulled on quotes either. One day, I guess a snowflake was walking through our work floor and reported the conversation he heard to our manager. We all got a talking to and the site diversity officer was relieved of duty... mostly because the site diversity officer was one of the guys on our crew . Ever since, there's been a standing rule in the assembly area, "No Quoting Blazing Saddles". Great movie. |

The author of that review should just go ahead and kill themselves.

I recommended it to a guy I work with who is a nice and really smart guy but also gay and very liberal. He had the same recoiling type of response to it as the author of the article did. He understood it was a satire but he just couldnt get past the language. View Quote |

I have not seen a non-censored version in years. I hate it when someone says "Sing us one of them ________________ work songs."
Non-censored it is one of the top 5 funny movies. You'd do it for Randolph Scott. Sheriff, they said you was Hung! And they was right! |

It’s racist to show an intelligent black man out witting racist idiots while quickly winning the loyalty of Jim, Lili, and Mongo?

The satire in Blazing Saddles is so obvious even the most PC/Snowflake person would get what Mel Brooks and Richard Prior are poking fun at, I would hope. I guess people like the author of that review are so sensitive, nothing can be funny. Can't fix stupid View Quote |

In the movie theater as Harvey Korman is getting in to sit down, a character already sitting says, "hey, watch it there, hey you." It is definately Mel's voice... |

I guess soon I'll need to get one that says "Celebrate Freedom: Watch A Banned Movie." |

Must be a sad life to be of such moral superiority that you can't even laugh at Mel Brooks.
If nothing else, the guy has been fairly equal opportunity at who he poked fun. |
