When Biden pushes to reopen schools media portrays him as visionary that cares. When Trump pushed to reopen schools he was portrayed as murderous tyrant. When parents have to stay home with children they can't go to work, dragging the economy down. Getting the kids back in school frees parents to return to work. Its almost like a certain event flipped a switch.... |

Corona mysteriously disappears on lord bidens first day of reign. rejoice peasants

This is a surprise?
A big fuck you to anyone who played along with this garbage. |

Well that's going to piss off a lot of teachers and their union.

They could at least try to make it less obvious, but obviously that's the whole point.

Anyone with any common sense knows the Covid-HOAX was only used to ruin President Trump.

Schools in Illinois started back this week and schools in KY start back next week, both have Democrat Governors. Yet Biden says we are entering the darkest period of the virus and the schools have not received any additional funding to make them safer.

Didn't you know? The virus is over now with Biden in. The first "100 days" is going to make the economy boom again! All hail the savior Biden!
|
|
Given that the plan involves masks, accomodations for at-risk students and teachers, and vaccines that's a lot more reasonable than the plan pushed by Trump when we didn't have a working vaccine and the plan didn't allow for accommodating at-risk students and teachers.
You have to read beyond the headline to know there's any difference or that people are still pushing back against it though. |

Our kids have been in school for five months now. No outbreaks have been associated with it.

How will doomers react? Will they cling to their masks?
That’s the million dollar question. |

Where are schools still closed, blue states/cities?
My kids have been in school since last August, no issues. |

Quoted: Well that's going to piss off a lot of teachers and their union. View Quote Good. Fuck these people and their bullshit. Our teachers and our school board agreed to online school anytime the Covid numbers in our county went above a certain level. Jab these self pretentious assholes with super doses of vaccines and get back to teaching. Online teaching is a damn disaster. I've pissed off a few friends that are teachers. |

Quoted: Well that's going to piss off a lot of teachers and their union. View Quote Yep. I live in Clark County NV, which IIRC is the 5th largest in the nation. When there was discussion over going back to in person classes for the 2020-2021 school year a bunch of teachers made a drama scene of writing their wills because going back to work would get them killed by the wuflu. |

Quoted: The teachers wont go along with it until a vaccine is widely available View Quote Wonder if the LAUSD teacher's union is still sticking to their demands? Was something like 100% vaccination, amnesty, defunding the police, UBI, rent cancellation and the rest of the socialist laundry list before they will go back in the classroom. |

Quoted: Our kids have been in school for five months now. No outbreaks have been associated with it. View Quote Ours have been in their private school for 3.5 months, but about the same. You've got cases with families or staff once in a while - which everyone expected - but zero evidence of spread inside the school itself. Mind you, they're also not being stupid and are using masks, social distancing, and frequent handwashing. Just going back to business as usual in 2019 would not be such a great plan. |

good luck getting the terrified doomers out of their homes / back to work.

Quoted: good luck getting the terrified doomers out of their homes / back to work. View Quote I wrote a recent post about liberals having crippled amygdalas that can't properly identify, assess, or respond to legitimate threats. Usually, the way you manipulate them is with a ridiculous impossible promise of paradise, and they'll crusade for it oblivious to the danger and treat anyone who says "no" as their worst enemy. See: Communism, every time. In contrast, you manipulate conservatives by exaggerating a real threat and sending their threat reaponse system into hyperdrive. See: 9/11, the war on terror, torture, and widespread donestic surveillance. What I've noticed is that the left's apparent deathly fear of Covid does not fit the pattern. While it's true that individuals are complicated, the law of large numbers compels me to find an alternative explanation consistent with our built-in tendencies. My hypothesis is this: Liberal fears do not originate from their amygdala warning them of danger. Instead, they are generally self-induced hysterias that serve as tribal in-group identity markers and justification to do what they want to people who tell them "no." That would mean that they aren't actually afraid if the virus, but of losing in-group status from insufficient virtue signaling, and they're deceiving even themselves. If the in-group membership criteria changes though, their manufactured/deep-feigned fear of the virus will instantly disappear, and they will rationalize the new way they're supposed to behave instead. It appears we may be about to put that hypothesis to the test. |

FJB better get the message to his loyal state governors.......Cuomo is pissing his pants over a “new, even more deadly strain.”

Quoted: Our kids have been in school for five months now. No outbreaks have been associated with it. View Quote Our kids resumed school in the fall as normal. 100% in person unless the parents opted-out for remote learning. Most kids returned to school. When our wave hit in October the schools remained open and the district did a commendable job of keeping the schools staffed. While the were individual quarantines and infections during the peak none of the schools were identified as the source of any outbreak. Our small community is now way down the curve and life appears fairly normal here now. |
