Came here to post this.  Although I think he only played 8 games in the NFL.

He was great in Predator:

“Only” played in 8 games in the NFL... probably 95% of high school football players never go on to play college ball and probably 99% of D1-D3 college players never even make an NFL practice squad.

Dude played in the NFL... that’s nuts.

It's gotta be either MJ, OJ, or Tyson. There can't be any other correct answers, except maybe the Hanson Brothers.

Chuck norris.

Was at the top of his game athletically.

Most people know him from his acting.

Pro wrestling is physical but is not a sport.

Could make an argument for Bruce lee too.

Steve McQueen as well.

At first, I'd probably say two-time Olympic gold-medalist Buster Crabbe, or five-time Olympic gold-medalist Johnny Weismuller.

But then, after thinking about the question a little longer, it has to be Ben Johnson, the only man to ever win the world-championship in rodeo, and an Academy award for acting.

Who succeeded the most, transitioning from the gridiron, the court, the field

to the big screen?

Ahnold seems like he would be a popular pick, but idk if bodybuilding is properly a sport

Dennis Rodman

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Rowdy Roddy Pipper (again, another maybe not properly a sport)

OJ

Andre the Giant

etc, etc.

What sport did he play before acting?

He was one hell of a race car driver as well as an actor. He did all of his own driving in the movie Grand Prix, The Rockford Files, and later as a sports car driver along with Steve McQueen.

yeah, I watched a documentary on Grand Prix... they were talking about him doing his own driving in some scenes, and they had professionals driving too... they were saying when Garner took off (with a head start)they could not catch him and thought he could be a professional... although he was a pretty big guy..

Turd Ferguson.

But seriously, Kris Kristofferson.

He was in SI during college for his Rugby.  Army helo pilot before a song writer.

He famously landed a helicopter on Johnny Cash's lawn in order to get him to record his songs. True.

I think he's actually the best actor mentioned in the thread, if not the biggest athletic success.

Benny The Jet is best friends with buddy. 4 Time World Champion Earnest Hart Jr.. He is also an actor in Hollywood. He has worked with more famous people than probably most people can count. He was best buddies with Elvis Presley just to name one. I submit Earnest Hart Jr.
