All the very rich public figures have a bomb proof building somewhere on the premises and a trained professional eod guy to screen the personal mail in that building before anyone else touches it. An example is Lady Bird Johnson. Her security detail had this setup for her until the day she died. She received thousands of Christmas presents every year from people she did not know. The eod guy was very skilled at slitting the presents open, making sure they were safe and re-wrapping them to look like they had never been opened. Just in case lady bird actually wanted to open some of them. In the last few weeks before Christmas lots of overtime and many times a second eod guy would have to be added.

There was a chart with expected boxes, the boxes all went into a bin away from the house.. she was advised any box that looked remotely suspect was to be reported to him and he had someone who would check it out. luckily in the time she worked for him they never had an incident, the precautions were in place because at one point something happened. |

I used to work in the USPS target mail division (just before the Anthrax crap). Unless things have changed significantly, it would be pretty easy to get a package with explosives by the Post Office folks. The criteria that it had to fit were retarded, basically had to have ACME BOMB written on the side to get noticed.
