"New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew, who has strongly opposed the Democrats' impeachment efforts, is leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a member of the Republican Party after meeting with President Donald Trump." Link |

This rarely goes over well with voters. It happens a lot in my state legislature. Well, not actually switching parties, only one legislator has done that in my adult life (I was actually her classmate preschool - 12th grade). But what does happen a lot here is that Democrats will run as Republicans in Republican districts, win election, and then presto-chango caucus with Democrats. Infuriating.

Actually He Should plan on leaving New Jersey. Like Everyone else is.But This works.

So when will the FBI arrest him for being another Russian asset?

So he will add to the ranks of the House RINO caucus? Its still a big happening in this day and age. |

How long until he is found suicided with two gunshot wounds to the back of the head?
You do not simply leave the mafia. |

Good.
Sen Manchin is already more R than some Rs, why hasn't he? |

Our current Governor in WV was a registered Republican for years. Switched to Democrat. Ran as a Dem. Won as a Dem. 7 months into office switched back to Repub. He saw the writing on the wall with Trump in WV and had a rally with him a short time later.

If Democrats couldn’t magically become Republicans you wouldn’t have elected Trump.

"Bryan Dean Wright, a Democrat and former CIA officer, responded to the news by writing on Twitter: “Turns out people get tired of defending a party that’s spent the past three years embracing Socialists, anti-Semites, and hysteria.”

Van Drew has a spotty record on guns. He voted against mag ban (which still passed) but for the red flag law

Many years ago, Colorado, Ben Nighthorse Campbell, switched from D to R. He was a good senator and real native American.

Nice.
Interested to see his voting history and what his future voting habits will be provided he doesn't shoot himself in the back of the head three times. |

That is a very Conservative and Rural area in NJ.
He is saving his Political Life. |

Good!
Let this impeachment be the death nail in the Democrats coffin. I'm not a socialist, but have more respect for the socialist party then the Democrats! At least their honest! |

Rep Tom Emmer R-MN (he is actually the chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, so he is in a position to not be talking out of his ass) was on the local radio yesterday morning and teased that there were "several" Dem members of Congress who are in talks to switch parties and when pressed as to who they were said, "There aren't any from Minnesota, but you have heard of some of them." I haven't heard of this guy, so I'm going to assume he's the first domino to fall.
