There are reports a large aircraft has crashed over the Snowy Monaro in south-east New South Wales in Australia.

Reuters said that local media reported that the aircaft was a C130 waterbomber and that it was working near a large fire in a national park.

Witnesses are saying it went down in a ball of fire.  I can only assume they are meaning they saw a ball of fire on impact.  The tail is apparently still intact.

There is supposedly a NOTAM quarantining their Jet A tanks at Richmond AU airport.  Possibly up to a week.

Those “climate activist” arsonists need to be held culpable for their deaths.

Tailwinds boys.

How does the C-130 refill water. Do they skim the water like some of the other do?

Very sad to hear.  Coulson is a bunch of good folks that are very important to the fire fighting efforts in the US. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be the same thing that happened to Tanker 130 back a number of years ago.  That was an A model, this was a converted Q model. Tanker 134 (this crash) was a fairly new airplane to the fire community after having been rebuilt a few years ago.
