The first thing I did was find a character I liked, and looked up a basic tutorial, also helped that I ordered the hard-backed strat guide that shipped with the game, reading through bits of that has helped, but you can just find some youtube getting started videos. The best thing to do is get decent with one character, know how to use their special, know how to recover and then pick up more of the game as you go along. |

Just unlocked all characters. Dark Pit is my fav. His B fires .50 cals and he has wings.
Meta knight is a close second. Wings, and that drill attack. His down B is pretty neat too. I havent tried online yet, with an infant my gaming time is limited lol |

I haven't tried online in a few days and each game I was in had significant lag, thought originally it was my connection but a lot of people online were complaining so it's apparently a Nintendo Online Network issue.
Supposedly they've fixed some of the issues, I'll give the online battles another try this weekend. I've latched onto Ryu once I unlocked him. He seems the most diverse character I've tried so far. I'll probably play as Ken when he is finally unlocked as being a SF guru Ken is my goto. |

right now I'm still going through unlocks but so far I'm leaning towards marth as my main. Although pikachu can be easy mode some times

Well, the gamecube adapters are FINALLY available again on amazon.
The only ones for sale now are 3rd party, mine arrived today and playing Smash on the Switch with a gamecube controller is a blast. |
