I'm highly debating on doing an investment video series over it.
Remember those Federal Black packs that Dicks/Cabellas/BassPro/Academy had in 2018 for $45 with a $20 MIR for 1600 rounds per case (That's 1.5625 cents each). Remember how everyone bought truckloads of them at that price? Now those cases are selling for upwards of $500/each at auction. That's a $475 net income per case. So , now all these firearms & ammo that I've been buying during the salad days is selling for 3, 4, 5 , 10 times what I paid. Not that I TRUST what's going on with politics, however I'm hard pressed to come up with ideas/methods that the government could institute laws easily that would increase prices FAR beyond where they were 2 years ago. Like most of you, I remember my dad taking me to the gun store, gun shows ,etc all through the 1990s, I remember going to a horse riding arena outside Columbus that was stacked with AKs for $179 and SKSes for $89. I remember then my dad buying a single case of 7.62x39 for $500 in late 1994/early 1995 after the AWB was passed, then paying $100/ea for magazines for his POS S&W 40f. I very vividly remember those prices, then generally how they crept down between 1995 and 2000 as the market leveled off. Generally I have the same feeling I did after Sandy Hook : That the sales panic prices are temporary, and I might as well make hay (Meaning selling whitebox 9mm for $1.50 a round) while the sun is shining. |

No, I've never had a very large collection and I'm definitely keeping what I have.

Yes,getting older with no one to leave them to.
Getting ready to sell most of them. |

I totally got rid of everything that isn't already in the NFA registry.

If people are going to pay stupid prices, there's no point in hanging on to things I don't really like, don't ever shoot and don't care about. Like the prophet Miller once said, "Go on, take the money and run."

Your memory is not accurate, prices during the AWB did not taper off until the very end in 2004. I remember $70 Glock 17 mags were common as were $100 for Glock 21 mags. Those prices leveled off in about 99-2000 and stayed in that area until the end of the AWB. AR mags went up to $30-35 NIW and stayed at that level until the ban ended. Ammo has been a mixed bag. I paid as low as $25 a case for 7.62x39 from a dealer who was closing his shop. 20 years ago AIM was selling Port 7.62x51 at $139 a case delivered. I wish I had bought more. Look at the reality that you will never replace the ammo for anything close to what you bought it for in the next 5 years. Cashing out with a goal in mind is nice. reduced debt, medical bills, retiring etc. Do something productive now and make more

And here I am, scheduled to look at a collection that ‘might’ be for sale in a couple of weeks....

All of it. I roll around naked in Benjamins on my bed like that scene in "Indecent Proposal" for fun now.

Yep I got 11 things up for sale right now. They were all guns or guns/ammo combos I just don't want and/or don't shoot anymore. I found what the last few gunbroker auctions sold for for each item and priced under that. I've also got a buy it all at once for like 20% extra off too. Hopefully my FFL friend can move them quick locally but I just got the list to him today.

LOL
Feeding the panic is always a sound strategy. Parts I'm not ever going to use? Hell, I'm giving them to people that need them. Complete guns, ammo, optics, etc... ? Nope, I'm even looking to buy more. |

I'm selling everything in my airsoft collection, including the accessories.

I've sold a few.
Traded some for other stuff. I've got a pretty big collection - but all this crap has got me beat down a bit - losing interest. Part of me hates to sell - but if Biden gets his way - my collection will be devalued and my investment destroyed. It makes me sick to my stomach. If the gun and mag tax thing goes - I'll need to mortgage my house to cover it. Might start a GoFundMe. |

I've sold about 14 AR-15's consigned at a local gunshop over the last 7 months. First couple of sales back in July were to fund an expensive tax bill. In Nov / December I unloaded all of the AR's I'd built at around $350-500 each in the salad days for $800 or more each. What other hobby allows you to enjoy building something, using it for a while, then recovering your money? I sell via FFL's because VA has the universal background check law now, and I'm past being willing to ship the items out of state, even if I'd net a little more money. Much easier to drop them off at Gun shop and only show back up to collect cash or checks.
I'm still pretty deep in handguns, bolt actions, NFA items, and a few AR's. |

I am totally spooked, and also totally convinced "they", will try to, or actually tax the bejesus out of semi-auto everything (and their attendant magazines), or ban stuff outright. The Dems are capable of anything. I have unloaded all my AK's, and AR's. I sold the bulk of my ammo for those weapons too. Made lots of money, but I'm bummed. If I am wrong, I will be happy.

I lost all mine when I moved into a house boat! Who could of guessed you needed to anchor it in place... sucks. Now I just play COD and pick up everyone else's guns and have scavenger perk so I just use other peoples ammo to kill

Guns are icky, I’m just here for Asian chick gifs. Attached File

Yeah, will be liquidating much jerky and beanie babies. See me at the next gun show. I will also have popcorn.

Yep. Selling most of my stuff. Value is too high and bullshit it too great. |

What happened to all the patriots here? You all can comply with unconstitutional laws and give your freedoms up!
Now is the time to band together and declare we will not comply with unconstitutional laws any longer. Not one more inch! |

View Quote Ammo is way up but I'm just not seeing the same margins on AR's. Yea they are up, but not enough to make you wealthy. If the last couple panics have taught me anything, buy ammo, BCG's, and P-mags. That should have you covered. |
|
I'm not selling shit, not ammo, mags or guns. In the past you could sell in a panic then buy again later. This time will be very different. Most items like mags and freedom guns may not be available again.
IMO it'd be like selling off a FA MG collection in 1986, sure you can make some cash but good luck getting back in later. And if they are made totally illegal then I'll still have them to hold and look at and feel good knowing I still have them if nothing else. |
|
I'm not selling anything and they aren't ever getting anything. That is all.

|
If I can ever figure out exactly where that darn boat sank, maybe I'd try to salvage and sell some of it...
|
|
I want to but haven't got around to listing anything.
Thinking now I could sell some and pay for the camper I want. |
