CZs are easily some of the most hyped up guns on the internet. However, my experience with them has been rather lukewarm.
Obviously the high-end models like the Shadow 2 and TSO are really nice, but that's to be expected for any pistol in their respective price ranges. With the regular 75s (75b, SP-01, P-01 etc.) I was rather disappointed. Mushy triggers, terrible grips with Phillips screws (I know that's not a real criticism, but it just seems really cheap to me.), and seemingly average fit and finish overall. Needless to say, I just don't get it. What am I missing? |
|
i don't either - but people like cheap stuff.
i would like the Scorpion |

no experience with the scorpion but i hate the metal frame p01/sp01 guns. very heavy for carry, gritty decockers, uselessly tiny slide profile. weird ass rubbery texture on the p01

I like CZ guns but the Scorpion was a miss for me. I tried to like it but I ended up selling mine.

I like most of their guns.

So do I, but you’d have to be blind to not see that hipsters are drawn to CZ. View Quote Honestly as gun owners, we should take any method to get others into shooting. We need all the gun owners we can get with today's political climate. Hopefully over time they would vote R |

It won't make sense to us, as we are not hipsters. I shoot what I like and let others do the same without any drama. Must be a Glock fanboi. |

There's a lot of reasons to like a heavy for caliber gun for range use and competition with a relatively light slide to frame weight ratio. The gun cycles faster and flatter and helps with fast split times. Ability to grip them fairly high on the gun is nice, and they hold a lot of ammo out of the box. The triggers can usually benefit from a little work, but I wouldn't say they are bad guns at all.

I very much dislike the short slides. DA/SA trigger in a semi auto is not my cup of tea either.
I'll stick to 1911's for range blasters and Glocks for defense. |

My first CZ was my Bren 805. The action feels like it's on lubed up glass rails. It's a high quality piece and shoots like a dream. I recently went into an LGS and fondled a Scorpion. Holy shit I could hardly believe it came from the same manufacturer. The fit and finish left s lot to be desired and the action felt like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other. I was disappointed, but I'm still going to get one .

I love my 4 CZ's... I have a 805 Bren, a scorpion, a 75B classic, and a 75b High polish IMO they are a tremendous value for what you get! A little CZ porn: https://i.imgur.com/mfEmnRV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0TkAIfR.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MqzQZBk.jpg View Quote Chop those bitches |

What hype? The people who like them, like them. I like the P07 and the P09. I like the G19 and G17 too.

I always hear about hipsters liking CZ's...I thought hipsters were anti gun types???

Wait I just realized my favorite 1911 is technically a CZ.
I redact my previous CZ criticism and will instead proclaim op a hater. |

I like my Scorpion. Only CZ I own but I need one of those Shadow 2 pistols pretty badly.

I’m somewhat stunned that a guy with a username of “HKwhatevergun” wouldn’t be on the CZ bandwagon.
Absolutely stunned. |

I have a CZ Scorpion and its a great little carbine , but don't get the hype on the handguns. To each their own.

Stoplikingwhativenevershot.gif A worked on cz can rival 1911 single action trigger. |

The tiny slide serration area would be my main gripe. Difficult to manipulate under stress or with gloves. But that is purely speculation because I haven't used one. View Quote If you’re not used to it and you’re running hard, fast under stress your brain will be wondering where the rest of the slide is. Table starts in USPSA are a touch more difficult than with a 2011 unless you have a slide racker... After you spend awhile with it, it’s not a big deal. |

I like my sp01, the scorpion is ok, I need to get the czc trigger and sbr it and it will be a lot better

They were a interesting thing when they were cheap. An actual good, reliable, dependable firearm for not a lot of money.
The price has driven up to the point where I have no interest. Plus, the market is flooded with cheap but good firearms these days. I don't know why anyone gets excited about any guns these days. Everyone should be chock-full of great weapons for bottom dollar right now. If you aren't, you're doing it wrong. |
|
My CZ' are several years old and honestly they are kind of crude weapons, think AK of the handgun world. When taken apart my p-01 has lots of tool marks and they put a paint on finish likely to hide the roughness. It has broke a trigger return spring and a slide stop so far with not a lot of rounds out of it.
CZ was a good deal 10+ years ago due to the cost, now days i'm unsure of the hype. ETA as someone pointed out the low slide makes it harder to rack than most other handguns, my wife cannot rack the p-o1 but has no issues with others. |

Next, some assclown will decry the Glock hype, just to establish his edginess cred.

I shot a cz75 once, very light recoiling and I was very accurate with it (I was new to handguns at the time) - it impressed on me that it was a quality sidearm..
I'd like to compare back to back with my p229 now |

Two SP01 tacticals, a third SP01 suppressor ready.
A P01 nightstand gun. A CZ550 with the mannlicher stock to harvest meat. And I will have the BREN2. Good products. |

ITT, an HK fanboi complains about hype.
Shadow 2, SP01T, and P-09 are awesome. All are hammer fired, and the S2 and SP01 are complete pigs (weight wise), but they’re all nice pistols. S2 is amazing |
