Don't want to do A Arms, but worst case I could install a small lift, but prefer to stay stock.

That said, I'm about to order a wheel and tire kit. To be safe, I'm thinking about just getting 28x10-14 carnivores.

But I'd really prefer 30s. But there are mixed reviews about whether they rub too much or not.

The factory tires are called 27s, but measure about 26 on the machine. I hate to spend the money and only go inch or 2 bigger.

Anyone running this exact tire on their 2020 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Crew and have thoughts on 28s versus 30s

Dont own a side by side so take thisfor what it's worth
I would go 30s for sure . Would suck to spend all that $ to gain 1" clearance , when a hundred dollers more could get you 2" .  You can get Arms that are extended foward instead of outwards .

Buddy was in the same boat 3 months ago with his 2020 Can Am Defender . Wanted 30s , wasnt sure if he would need new arms because some guys on the internet said yes 30s fit  , others said no they wont  . Found some locals that had CanAms and tried different tires they had on his . He wound up fitting 32" Carnivores on his with no lift , and no extended arms . The only time it rubs is when hes crossing an extremely deep ditch side ways (Dropping the drivers side or passenger side in 1st ) if he hits obstacles with both tires square there is no rubbing .

2 inches of tire is only 1 inch of clearance

you will gain top speed but lose power on the low end..

I would go with a slightly smaller tire with more aggressive traction

Yeah. I may just go 30s and if there's unacceptable rubbing then lift it.

The factory tires are barely 26 on the machine. A true 30 (most seem to say the carnivore runs true to size) of a significant jump.

Lifting it is easy and cheap if it comes to it I guess. Not to mention I can get about an inch by adjusting the factory socks.

Was hoping someone here has done it.

You are correct yes. Only half the increase in (actual) tire size contributes to overall vehicle height.

I want to increase clearance. The machine has plenty of power and gearing. A small increase in tire size will not harm performance to any degree about which I'm concerned.

Buddies 32" Carnivores measure just under 31"s .
That's another thing he did to the front , turned the adjuster ring one position stiffer on the front shocks . You will be impressed with Carnivores.

Thanks. I think I'm gonna order the 30s and hope for the best.

If they rub enough to concern me I'll increase factory suspension and if that doesn't work, slap in a 2 inch lift from MMA.

I don't have much advise as far as tires, I'm still running the stock 32s on my can am.  As far as wheels go from what I've read/watched stay as close to stock offset as you can.  People like the look of the offset wheels but when you do that you're introducing a lot of bump steer to the front end.

I put a 2” Marshall moto lift on mine and went to a 1” taller tire that was more of an all terrain tire.

I would do the a arms to push the front out if I were you

I'm about to goto 32's on a 15" wheel up from 30's on a 14" wheel but I'm on a Pro XP. Be careful about the weight, you may have clutch issues if you go too heavy.

OK,  installed the 30 inch carnivores to my 2020 Ranger Crew XP1000.

I can get it to rub if I cut the wheel to lock and back up.

I want to either lift it or add forward A arms to get clearance but I'm curious which is more useful?

I assume I can get arched forward A arms to push the wheels forward for clearance, and that would give me a little more ground clearance up front as well.

Or I could lift the whole body 2 inches or so.

Just curious which option offers the most benefits. They both appears relatively simple, install wise.

Lastly, I haven't adjusted the factory shock settings at all. I assume there may be an inch or so room there if I max out everything

Mud bogs?

For that I would go with a wider front.

I would try forward A Arms if you can find them.

Carnivores kinda suck in the snow. Lots of understeer and traction issues yesterday.

Gave up after about an hour playing in the snow because I was gonna nail a tree rolling the dice like that. My sons RZR on 28" Commanders was much better.

I wish we got much snow here too play on. But that's not really a factor, sadly.

Most of my riding is on dirt and some gravel getting there.

Anyone have experience with forward A arms? Looking at 2 brands. High lifter and super atv.

I needed something that could get real skinny when needed.  I will get the 6 seat next time around though.  The cab isn’t very good in this unit, but I have a newer one that is a bit better.  This unit has about 900 hours and 3500 miles on it , no mx issues at all

If I could find a defender to test I would try that, but finding these things right now is terrible.  Only way I could get one was to order it, and I’m not ordering something I can’t test first

Thanks

Thinking it should completely solve the rubbing issue.

I am hoping to have time to get them installed saturday morning. Will post pics.

Finished up the installation of the high clearance forward arms this morning.

Has to pull the damn front bumper and winch to remove front bolts from the uppers, but otherwise was fairly simple install.

Got tons of clearance now.

Here it is. I think I'm pretty much finished.

Clears the 30s nicely now.
