I know, I know, pedantic Phil.  A PDW has to be full auto to be a “real” PDW.  If you have actual full auto stuff, awesome.  Flex on the poors.

For the rest of us, what “civilian” pdw do you have?  I’ll post up a poll, using the 9 hole review pdw subcategories from their video:
What is a PDW? [The 4 types of Personal Defense Weapons]

Basically, thread is mostly about what you might use to supplement your usual edc gun thats easier to transport/conceal than an A4 with a mounted bayonet if forced to leave the basement during interesting times.  Feel free to argue about why your choice is the only choice and how anyone who disagrees is stupid.

And just to get the thread started off on the proper serious note.

Rattler with a K can. Fits in a basic (tiny, 19L) Northface backpack with suppressor attached. Didn't buy it to be my traveling PDW but I'll be damned if it isn't perfect in that role.

I suspect Rattler will be a popular answer for sure.

Porque no los tres?

CZ Scorpon Evo 3 S1 SBR
Zastava M85 SBR
Kel-Tec CP33 SBR

I've been tempted to get one of those Mp5k clones to round out the collection.

I wouldn’t feel too bad against common unarmored threats with my APC9k  SBR. I have mine with the ump style folding stock, obsidian 9 with three lug mount and 33 round Glock mags loaded with 147 HST.

It’s quiet, accurate, easy to shoot, and if you remove the can and fold the stock it shrinks down to almost nothing.

Never really thought about it before but apparently I own a few of each type. I didn't even realize I was collecting PDWs - and I'm even a completionist!

A 10.3 with a LAW folder is pretty tight.

Fits in a large laptop bag. Is some serious shit if it comes out to play. If you think MK18s are icky... don't care.

11.5" AR pistol in 5.56.

Currently building an 8" .300BLK that I intend to SBR.

I’m thinking a Stribog with a brace for my next road trip. Either that or a braced MP5K clone.

5” 5.56 with a Binary trigger, of course.

Doubles as a concussive device. Guaranteed to clear a crowd!

Recently bought my first pcc for this reason. MPX-K with brace. Borrowed a buddy’s and shot countless drills against my G19 with rmr to see quantified proof that it is effective.

I’ve been around enough unsuppressed rifle fire without earpro to know that its brutal in an urban environment. And im not real wild about leaving nfa items in the truck. Dont want a visit from the atf if they get stolen.

I have examples from categories I, III, and IV.  There’s a bit of temptation to SBR a Glock but I think I’d rather build out another MP5 clone.

Realistically, the P(S)90 or MP5K-PDW would be my preference.  Shorty < 10.5” rifles are fun and all but extremely fucking loud without a suppressor.  Like I’m not going to enjoy 5.7 or 9mm without a can but 5.56 or 5.45 is horrifically awful without one.

I think I’d just as soon avoid an area where Plan A needs to be “bring the optimal PDW” though.

APC300 Pistol. I may SBR and get a dedicated can for it.

Hard to beat really

I was the first to answer the poll and had to select all 4.

I may have slight gun autism.

I’ve got some choices.

I could also go with the SAM7UF:

I’ve got plenty of AR SBR’s that would all be better choices…….

Don't have one but I always thought a 7.5 or 8" AR with a PDW stock in .300BLK or 6.8SPC would be a fun range toy.

That is pretty small.

Still pretty big and heavy compared to some of the other options listed.

In situations where I'm worried about zombies or commie militants or paragliding enthusiasts I'll usually throw the RDB in the trunk as my compact just in case rifle. I've been thinking something like a Recover chassis for a 5.7x28 pistol like the Rock would be an awesome little minimalist PDW though.

6" 300BLK with Troy Tomahawk Short.
18.5" of argument.

Glock 30s and my 10.5" WAHTF AR pistol. That's if the fertilizer really hits the propeller.  In a medium spicy situation,  I will hold off strays with lever guns, so the state doesn't get too excited about me.
