He tells you he has no money because he just got back from Costa Rica.
He said he’s a fishing guide but things got messed up and someone died. He said he’s bipolar. He said text him but he doesn’t have a phone right now. Do you sell him said vehicle? |

Laugh and be marveled at the irony of the sutuation as I tell him that I just bought the car with no money, I forgot to take the for sale sign off because I am driving it to Costa Rica tomorrow.

Tell him your dick isn't going to suck itself.
Future plan of action depends on price of vehicle. |

I would have walked away or closed my door after his 2nd sentence.

This sounds pretty much like trying to sell any large item on social media goes now days.
Interested in trades? Will you take payments? Is this still for sale? XYZ shitty low-ball offer here. |
|
As soon as he returns with the cash, sure I sell it to him. This is assuming no one else showed up with cash first.
If he's asking you to hold it for him to get the cash... #lolno |

First person to show up with the money gets it. IDGAF about your life story.

Yes, for cash in hand only. Someone with that much baggage can’t be trusted to provide a good check.

Tell him the sale of the car is on hold due to a close family member recently dying under suspicious circumstances while in Costa Rica on a fishing trip. The fishing guide has disappeared and the US Marshalls are searching for him.

We had a member whose son bought a car a few years ago, car was a piece of shit, bought it from the father of the car's owner. Had a hell of a time getting the title, or they were trying to get his money back(don't remember for sure which).
The dad who sold him the car said his son was a fishing guide in Costa Rica. Same family? |
|
If he shows up with cash before anyone else shows up with cash, then I don't care how he acquires the money.
I'd just meet him at the DMV (Secretary of State in MI) to make sure the title goes in his name immediately so anything he may do with the car won't come back to me. |
|
On a side note: do the GD Lords allow posts asking for a used cars value?

Wasn't there a police officer on here who had two guy and a girl ask to look at a car he had for sale then one of the guys hit him with a shovel while they tried to steal the car?
|
|
Nope. Sounds like a guy with lots of problems who needs to chat a bit. Chat with him a bit and then tell him to have a nice day.
You will probably make his day by listening to him. |
|
|
Tell him to shut his stupid face, because you don't give a runny shit about his stupid, loser backstory. Either put cash in your hand, or go jump in front of a train.
Or something like that. |
|
When that does happen, I immediately post it on

But assuming this is one of those "I'll have the money next payday" kind of things, no. Do not hold it for him, make no promises. Those 'hold it for me' cases almost never work out and you're left passing up other legitimate parties because you promised this one dude. No. |
