Got the email last week so I decided to try one. I really don't think in the intended grip it would be too easy to cut yourself. The stock clip is a horrible hot spot though. Definitely needs something different. The Southern Grind shorty clip might be just the ticket. |

Well I ended up with both versions. Got the Ti first. I liked it a lot, but it was a bit hard to fire. Any pressure on the frame lock, even when you think you have your fingers on the clip, causes problems. But man, when it fires it sho is nice. Then the v2 went on sale for black friday, so naturally I had to get it... It fires easier, for sure, but it's kinda meh. Seems like it hangs up a bit on the Micarta. Not smooth and slick like the Ti. Meh. Maybe both need to break in more though. I at first wanted to loosen up the Ti so it would fire easier, but figured I would let it be for a while and see if it got easier. And the Micarta may just need to wear in a bit too, to smooth it out. But I absolutely love them, the profile in the pocket is perfect, still have a large enough blade, but so slim. Love them. I also don't like the wire clip on the Micarta, much prefer the nicer Ti clip. Still need to do pics, but... ya know how it is. Actually, you clearly don't. Hah! |

Once I got the micarta version, I knew the ti version wouldn't see much pocket time, so I let the ti fly. Reate does nice work. If you are having issues with either version in the action, my guess would be an ID10t error? shouldn't be hanging up on the micarta anywhere. If you really don't like the wire clip, looking at it, looks like it is similar/same as a spydie wire clip. RGT sells ti replacement clips to fit in a spydie wire clip space. Might work here too. Yes, you need to do pics. no excuses. Glad you are finding some stuff you like. Also, told you I would hook you up on an Atom, you didn’t bite. I have no use for it until I can find starry night scales and those aren’t coming anytime soon. |

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you’re capable of great violence.
If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful, you’re harmless. |

I feel like the wire clip bends when I grab to open the knife. I like the solid feel of the Ti. I don't think my gripes are worth sending them back, I just hope they loosen up a bit. The Ti is slick and you get a really nice click when it locks. the Micarta is just a little mushier. Now that I look, the blade is centered, and not rubbing the micarta at all, so i'm not sure what the mushy is. Maybe the inside of the liner lock? I had made up my mind to forget the Atom until after Christmas, after I missed the late Nov drop. I may reach out to you... if nothing else to get it off my plate |
