Drywall is easy to remove, too. Plaster, not so much. My parents bought a 100 year old house when I was a freshman in high school. Over the course of the summer between 9th-10th (or maybe 10th-11th) grade, I tore out, shoveled into an old grain wagon, and hauled to the dump 28 tons of plaster and lath. |

Just do your best to keep the cuts (both on the wall and on the new boards) as straight as possible, to minimize the gaps when mudding. Normal drywall mud shrinks as it dries, so large areas of it will sink and/or crack. |
