Look, if you're going to hang out with our little clique, you need to learn there are certain people that are always wrong, even if you think they are right.

You fashionistas can commiserate together quietly on the side, but don't acknowledge Gingerskanks in public.

I wanted to try an atom but I'm not a huge fan of liner locks and the hugeeeee amount of hype around it really turned me off. I hate that every youtuber ever was jizzing over them saying it's the best thing since microwaves or titties.

It's well done knife with a simple elegance. The hype comes from it being hard to get.

Like a PM2, it's a great slicer.

The SLRs are well built guns unlike most AK patterns and can be made to actually fit a normal sized person.

But still... Not my bag.

What's your take on CZ buying Colt?

Colt is in my town right down the street from my house.  They're the home team so I've always used their guns.

But their finances and leadership over the years have been infamously pitiful.  Some leaders had their cronies treat Colt like their personal gun store.   And management was always at odds with the employee union.

I've seen Winchester close up shop and leave as well.  CT has such a tradition of machining which is why so many gun manufacturers were here.  There are still a bunch of specially machinists that make precision parts but nothing like a full gun manufacturer.

I like CZ.  They make some excellent guns.  Now they have the Colt name.  Obviously they have a plan but I would just be guessing as to what that might be.  Just sad to see another big piece of CT history go away.

The Sebenza of rifles.  Not the best overall but a solid contender in every category.  And like the Sebenza, everybody should have one.  I want a 31 in S45V and I'm good.

That's my fear. Buy the hype then be disappointed.

Only two I've tried that are always hyped up but actually delivered so far are the pm2 and sebenza. Everything else has been mediocre.

Except for maybe the spydiechef. That thing slaps.

I don't know how to feel about that. CZ is a respected maker of quality products and Colt is just a romanticized name with a bunch of debt. CZs profits must have been too good and it was looking to offset them? Not sure at all. What does Colt have to offer CZ? CZ already has a strong foothold in the US and is building production facilities. Colt had connections with police and military which I am sure CZ wouldn't mind accessing, but is it worth much? CZ is already a NATO supplier.

I dunno.  I feel like this may be a deal like when MB "merged" with Chrysler. It only brought MB down.

Hell of a mail call today. The big one will have to wait until I have better lighting. I still won't do it justice. The detail is unbelievable.

But this one is fun.

Found a custom SAK in a forum, guy in Germany selling it. We get to talking. Go to make payment and since it is international Paypal hits me with all kinds of fees making it cost way more than I was planning. I think they charged an extra $10 just to do the conversion, plus international fee etc.

So I wasn't thrilled about price, but spec wise it had me interested.

Ask the seller if he is from or in Munich since he has "Isar" in his email address. Get to talking, he grew up close to where I lived while I was there on the south side of Munich near the Isar river. Knew my favorite Biergarten on the Isar very well. Says he lives in another part of Munich now, but still close. Said since I knew the Isar he would throw in a little something extra. Cool.

Very cool actually now that I have it. I need to follow up with him, but I think he made these scales himself. 3d printed metal. Pretty sweet.

If you get one at normal price you can always get your money back out of it. It's one of the safest purchases in the knife world at the moment.

At least it's not the amount of hype that's surrounding the Shaman at the moment. Talk about a massively over hyped knife.

If knives were memes...

Never has a knife ticked so many boxes while leaving so many empty at the same time.

I love the blade shape and grind, the thumbhole is great, the wave works well, the handle ergos fit my hand so well it almost feels like I squeezed a ball of clay.
I added the lanyard and found I can draw it by the lanyard if I don't want it to wave open or by the handle if I do.

We'll stay positive today. It's impossible to like everything about every knife.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect EDC for over three years now.

It doesn't exist.

True on both points. I disliked my base shaman and resold it. I like my new one for the steel and the price as a second, but would never have paid retail or stupid high secondary prices for it.

I just can't get the reasoning behind putting smooth G10 on a knife that's supposed to be a bigger and badder hard use version. Makes absolutely no sense. Along with the fact that they used up 1/3 of the blade with choil.

They need to get all of us in for some focus groups.

Those are cool.

I was really tempted after seeing the micarta 0393, but looking up sizes for the 392 and 393...too short.  Not really too short, good working size but I really feel like that style should be closer to 9".

I had looked at the 0560 off and on over the years and always liked them, but not enough to grab one. Then smokie kept posting pics so I looked into them again. Saw the OAL was closer to 9" than 8" and...

You bastards are good at spending other people's money.

It's still up this morning. It's the official Hinderer B/S/T group.

It is really awesome.

And I am not telling the guy, not sure if it would make him feel bad not getting used, but the 58 went straight into my Bavarian curio tag and all. Super cool and fits right in with the Ludwig collection.

At least it's not the amount of hype that's surrounding the Shaman at the moment. Talk about a massively over hyped knife.

You are just a truth spittin machine lately.

For what they are I thought they were extremely well done and solid value at normal pricing and you can get your money back out of it if you didn't overpay or sell to a friend at a loss so he does you favors like sending hand sanitizer.

I think Op may have been in the wrong place or over hyped when he got his.

Or didn't have the right scales.

Or Op just has bad taste.

Jury is still out.

Look, if you're going to hang out with our little clique, you need to learn there are certain people that are always wrong, even if you think they are right.

You fashionistas can commiserate together quietly on the side, but don't acknowledge Gingerskanks in public.

ETA: It should go without saying, but some people are always right, even if you don't think they are.

I don't charge extra for my awesomeness.
This is probably not a good time to bring up that I put Mayo and sriracha on my eggs for breakfast huh.

Never has a knife ticked so many boxes while leaving so many empty at the same time.

https://i.imgur.com/FFlVi4s.jpg

I love the blade shape and grind, the thumbhole is great, the wave works well, the handle ergos fit my hand so well it almost feels like I squeezed a ball of clay.
I added the lanyard and found I can draw it by the lanyard if I don't want it to wave open or by the handle if I do.

We'll stay positive today. It's impossible to like everything about every knife.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect EDC for over three years now.

It doesn't exist.

It does exist.

Which knife do you carry everyday? SAK?

Or are there different ones depending on the day?

What I see here is a list of all the positives, no unchecked boxes listed.

For me, I would like to see the prices come down a bit.

I would be pissed if my logo was ghosting on a brand new knife like yours did.

Other than that though...?

There is stuff I change on each of them, but that is my preference. Some of them I feel like they should be standard from factory like oversized disk, PB washers, scale options, but still my preference.

Dem ergos doe...not everyone does it for me, but love the ones I have kept. once I get micarta on them, its like an old pair of worn in jeans.

That lanyard goes well on there.

I think we saw one Despicable me, not the first one. I dunno.

Not really inclined to take any more recs from you guys.

We watched Kung Fu Panda yesterday. My girls lost interest in the first five minutes. And my girls do taikwondo so they should have appreciated the characters.
