I remember hearing someone say in a documentary that they didn’t hit them like that because they were that bad. It went down like that because they were in fact that good.
Also, the BAR is my undisputed favorite weapon from that era. It just rips everything to shreds. |

Something something, stupid games, stupid prizes.
Not respecting other's lives doesn't make you untouchable. It makes you a target that deserves lead poisoning. |

What's crazy is that criminals like that used to be considered so abnormal it became a notable part of US history, but today it wouldn't even be front page news. Just shows you just how americans have become worse over the past 89 years.

The old farmhouse I live in was built in '34. They used newspapers to insulate the walls back then. 30 yrs ago when we were upgrading the house we found all sorts of Bonnie and Clyde and
John Dillinger shoot outs (Where they were killed) stories. Neat shit. |

I'm glad the mystique/romanticism finally wore off. Fuck em and good riddance.

Bonnie and Clyde - The Highwaymen LAST SCENE HD / Final / Shootout / 2019 |

View Quote Off topic a bit, but good movie. It didn't just focus on the hunt, but the human aspect as well. |

View Quote That was mighty satisfying. FUCK Bonnie & Clyde. Here's the 1967 version as a comparison. Looks like the lawmen are all using Thompsons; no BARs. Still, no denying it's an iconic scene: Failed To Load Title |

Someone owned that car and travelled around the country showing it. I saw it when I was a youngster in 1968.
I imagine the Bonnie and Clyde movie prompted that. |

View Quote I take exception to how they portrayed Bienville Parish as being in the swamps and the sheriff having a Cajun accent. Otherwise, great flick. |

Bonnie and Clyde both had gonorrhea.
Bonnies sister gave gonorrhea to other members of Clydes gang. Bonnie used to be a part time prostitute while waitressing. Clydes ex girlfriend was a prostitute. I don't think Clyde was gay like many claimed, I think like many A sexual personality's of the past once the VD got so bad chasing women or having kids isn't a priority. Bonnie wasn't pregnant when she was shot up. Bonnie was infatuated with Hollywood and glamor magazines, Clyde stuck in a depression drawn out by democrats in office left little opportunities. The evil inside they fed and nurtured themselves allowing only one real outcome. When a dog becomes rabid it must be put down. Frank Hamer is the reason the Texas Rangers exist today. Hamer fought political corruption, bossism, and election fraud. He did his best to prevent LBJ from stealing the senate race. Frank along with several other rangers lost a town to a riot thus dispelling the myth. Costner gave such a weak performance of a truly unique cool guy. Hamer had played the lets arrest the criminal alive before and had bad results. With B & C their demise was inevitable. |

I enjoyed the movie The Highway Men. Yes the gun store scene was great and it should still be that way now.

They robbed a bank in my town in 1932. The bank is now a restaurant and the vault is the bathroom.

Hubby and I saw the car in a "museum of creepy shit" in St. Augustine. It was probably the late 80's. It was actually pretty funny, the Chamber of Commerce refused to acknowledge the museum, but it was a very popular attraction at the time.

My grandfather was at the car in the road before they got it moved when he was a kid

View Quote There was only one BAR used by LE, some say it was borrowed from the NG, others say it was a Monitor. There were no Thompsons on the LE side or in B&C’s car iirc. Everyone else had Rem model 8’s (owned by Hamer) or lever actions. Fun fact, one of the other guys fired the first shot and shot Clyde. They didn’t warn them like in the Netflix movie, he just shot Clyde and then they opened up. It’s a shame they didn’t have GoPro back then lol. |

View Quote Well, FBI HRT/SWAT ambushed those people a few years back on a road, and they weren’t even bank robbers or violent criminals. They set up an L shaped ambush. The people from one of the various stand offs, but it was later. I can’t remember their names. Budy, Lundy Ranch? The people who had holed up at some ranger station, chained the gate, something like that. |

They killed two policemen about 15 min away from where I used to live in Colleyville TX. Odd driving past historic places like that sometimes.

View Quote Great movie. I wish I could buy it somewhere. |

I guess the moral of the story back then would have been "If Frank Hamer was after you you'd best get your personal affairs in order. "
He definitely had "Don't fuck with me " eyes. A genuine Badass. |

I saw the Bonnie & Clyde movie car at the wax museum in Grand Prairie, TX many years ago.
Looks like it was damaged in a fire at the museum in 1988. https://texashideout.tripod.com/wax.html |

My grandfather used to tell an interesting story.
As a young man in his twenties, he worked at a gas station in Dallas. He said that one day, a dark sedan pulled in and three well-dressed men got out and went inside as he pumped gas. There was a woman still in the car. It was a hot summer day and he asked the woman if she'd like a soft drink. About that time, the men came out and told him to not talk to her. They paid and left. That evening or the next day, he read that Bonnie & Clyde had been through Dallas. He recognized the photo of Bonnie as the woman in the car. He also claims to have met Marina Oswald in the early sixties, although he didn't get her name, and spoke with her in Russian (he spoke Czech) while he was fishing the Trinity River and the woman's husband was target practicing a distance away. |

Exactly and rather than do something to remove them from society, instead the government tries to restrict the rights of everyone. |
