I know this has been discussed before but I need some 5 gallon gas cans. They don't have to be pretty or impress anyone but they do need to pour without spilling gas everywhere like all of the CARB BS ones I'm finding. It's a bit of an unusual fueling area. Thanks.

I have been buying the old military jerry cans when I find them at swap meets and yard sales. As long as they are not trashed. I use them and work well!

I've got a bunch of NATO cans that sit.  My old race fuel jugs get used the most.

These are not the cheapest, but they are the best IMHO. I got mine for $35.00 each IIRC during a sale.

What's up with this part of the description?

I bought Waivian Jerry cans and glad I did.  They're expensive, but they are built like a tank.  They don't distort over time like the plastic ones.

whatever gas can you want.

Then buy this.

Siphon Pump

I don't know how or why I wasted time pouring gas in to cars and equipment in the past.

This...Expensive but worth it.  Also technically against the law to use for actual gas I think but most gas stations (even in Jersey) don't give a fuck.

Same. Funny thing is you can't buy them here but they do sell the exact same thing in white for "water jugs".

Luckily I bough a few Wavian cans (2 gas + 1 water) long ago when still available.
Have yet to (need to) use them, but I have 'em! Just in case :)

Exactly what I do. I have a dozen of the TSG ones. Amazon sells the "water" spouts and air vents.

I have quite an assortment of gas cans if your main concern is not spilling any the no spill jugs work really well.

Amazon Product
  • Thumb button control for precise pouring
  • 7/8-inch funnel spout fills even the smallest equipment
  • Attached dust cover keeps your spout clean

I wish I had some of those when I first got my race jugs.

All my spouts got kinked over time.

I ended up getting a E Z Flow adapter.

I learned that siphons were better than any quick pour spouts a long time ago.  I learned it by filling up equipment in single digit weather, where I could hang out and hold the 5 gallon can's upright, pouring it in and spilling all over, or setting them on top of the equipment, starting the siphon, then walking away and sitting in a heated truck.  I don't get all the rage over these spouts.

No spills are the best.  I like them over my prebans and vent adds.  A bit pricy but worth it.  You won’t spill a drop and can’t overfill EVER.

Only issue I’ve had is over thightening them and having a leak.  Snug, not gorilla snug.   Also don’t mix and match cans and caps.  My two don’t like that.

NATO Jerry cans and a pack of these.

The shaker siphons are cheap enough they should be part of every vehicle's emergency kit.  That way you can fill out of whatever container you might have.
They work great for adding coolant or windshield washer fluid, too, if you've got a reservoir in a hard-to-reach spot.
