On the way back from Emporia I did the 105miler. Cramps and T-storms wrecked my time but honestly my training has fallen off somewhat as well. Beautiful course though

Tulsa Tough is finished for me....I will be working on video.  Saturday's race which is normally my best race I got 18th overall and 6th for 50 plus.  I was in the front of the pack most of the time...

River Parks...(aka Cry Baby Hill) was not my best race.  I was with the pack up to 5 or so laps to go and just could not push the hill anymore....last year I did really well but this year I only finished a minute or so behind the pack....33rd.

103 people signed up for both races....but I really think about 70 or so really raced.

My legs are finally starting to come back from last weekend.  Now I need to keep going for our State Criterium Championship in a few weeks.....I am thinking to giving it another try this year.  The course is  50% on brick roads....hard core.

Good luck!
I've ridden some gravel And some fractured asphalt(it is like cobblestone) and it is totally different than road. It will beat you alive.
And that was on 700x38 tires

Not the strongest swimmer - 2:00/100m
Ride an old/crappy redline - 16/mph (just took delivery of a new-to-me 2014 Felt with actual clipless pedals)
Running is my strength - 3:30 marathon

I do these to help support the wife, she's the triathlete. But I'll try to keep my cycling posted here.

24 miles so far this year not counting the stationary trainer

Finished training camp this weekend:

54 miles on Friday, 20 mph average, 2700ft of climbing
89 miles on Saturday, 18.8 mph average, 4700ft of climbing
53 miles today, 17.9 mph average, 2900ft of climbing

Very odd but my legs feel fine.  Tomorrow is rest day.
