Lol.  2 lambos, or a 35yr old chevy pickup.  Decisions, decisions.

I could maybe see a pristine 454 pickup going for $50k.

Would you want a 1990’s GM diesel?

$159k and it has a dash light on.

I’m sure it will find a buyer but not at that price.

There's a place in Missouri that sells crisp, low mileage diesels from the 90s and early 2000s, big money there. Not 159k though.

This guy put 100k into an 81 pre-runner.

$100,000 | 1981 Toyota Pre-Runner PickUp | Walk Around

I hd an 83, longbed, 3"lift, on 34's just like the one below. Rust free and otherwise immaculate condition when I traded it off. I could fucking strangle my 23 year old self right now. Who in their right mind would ever imagine an 83 4 banger 4x4 fetching 50g's?!?!!

If you have solid old vehicles. TAKE care of them! The unique ones, especially those with cult followings are becoming very rare and more valuable.

I had lots of 1980's and 1990's Chevy 6.2 and 6.5 diesels back then.  They made great run about farm pickups.  In fact this is the reason my username here is Dieselman.  I was driving the diesels back when everybody else wanted gassers

That paint job is immaculate. It looks like glass. Whoever did it is one hell of a painter/body man.

It's a beautiful truck, no doubt. But it's not worth $159k...MAYBE $50k.

I know where there’s a 97 Ram 3500 12 valve 4X4 with under 10k miles.

I’m waiting for the day it goes up for auction. It’s a regular cab and as basic and basic can get but aside from need of a repaint it’s immaculate and has a pretty nice flatbed installed.

It will be mine.

I have an original 1967 4x4 one ton with low miles. It sits between my 86' K5 and 87' K20 burb. Never going to see salt!

A tad high - but if you had to pay for a quality restore plus the motor swap - you would probably be in the fucking expensive category already.

That said, it does not look like a "restore"  It looks like they tinkered with plenty of shit that was not stock.  It's lifted so does not have the stock suspension.  It has a motor swap. It probably has a premium leather interior plus modern electronics.  I don't know exactly what the interior should have looked like - but the seats look restored, the dash looks modified, but still has period correct electronics.

Best combination of sounds:

* the dry metal screech of the door handle button pushed in, the squeak of the door opening

* the squeak played in reverse, bust faster, as the door shuts, bang

* key ring jingle, chunk chunk of the key going in the ignition cylinder, the clicking of the cylinder to the on position

* the pleasant blare of the GM dash horn for 4 seconds over the AM radio halfway through the ad read of a local furniture shop

* the whir of the starter as it spools up bringing the short block v8 to life and settling to idle

That is a 40k truck.

It may have 80k of work into it, but guess what, you don't get your money back on a 30 year old truck.

50 years from now still in that condition? Who knows?

That sounds about right. I wonder where they're getting those trucks, my brother bought a 95 Bronco from a guy in Missouri around 2014. It was pretty rusty; the rear fender trim was separated and the front body mounts completely fucked up.

Holy hell-

Has anyone seen what square bodies go for?

And absolutely mint big block truck, in the rarest body style possible?

I dunno about the price as listed, but that’s an easy six figure truck

There's a used car dealership around here that specializes in '80s - 2000s trucks.
Some in the same $100k+ range. A large portion in the $40-80k range.

They also have newer brodozers in the $200k range.

EDIT for examples:

1996 F-350

2024 2500

They must have sold the $200k brodozer they had for sale, as I don't see it listed any more.

EDIT 2:
Check out the license plate on the first link.
