If you want an M14 type for nostalgia/retro/history I completely understand.
In that case, get a Norinco/Polytech and put it in a USGI wood stock with a real flash suppressor/bayonet lug and it'll do quite nicely. |

I have a LRB and it shoots well beyond what I am capable of. However since you want quality to price ratio, I can't recommend it. It is, imo, the best but they know it and charge beaucoup bucks as a result.
JRA or Fulton is likely the happy middle ground with price to quality. Or perhaps a Springfield super match. People love to bag on Springfield for various reasons but their supers are really solid weapons and lifetime warranty iirc |
