It makes a ton of sense. prior civilizations didn't have things to combat plagues, asteroid/comet impacts etc. Why did the South American Civilizations last so long and grew so big? You think the human sacrifices were really to the gods? Nope, that's what those in charge told the populace, those in charge new math well and knew crop yields and how economies worked...they were just keeping the population growth in check You also won't see alot of remains under the sea due to sediment burying the stuff. also, they would have used a shit ton of wood to build stuff. Way easier to use. I think because the vast amount of researches don't live where you have to fight the sea every day they don't understnad how it can consume so much. Go look at grand isle Louisiana...south me of me If I told you there were 3 full service hotels, 2 which were very large. Several large plantaions and a very large sugar mill along with rail roads...not to mention manilla village which was a stilt city built on top the waters of barataria bay that house nearly a thousand phillipine people. that was all there prior to the hurricanes of the late 1800s. Go now, not a single trace left. I mean nothing. I know where we can go to dig a few feet into the marsh to find a few bricks...other than that nothing left. Also Fort Livingston....with out the corps putting copiious amounts of giant ass rocks, that fort would have fell into barataria pass, which is over 100 feet deep. That's just shit less than 200 years old. So, these smart asses are gonna tell me, modern civilization only came to be 10,000 BC.? lmao...gtfo |

We didn't need to do that before the megafauna died out, and the climate didn't encourage it until the Holocene. The last 10,000 years have had the most stable weather patterns humanity has ever seen, by a wide margin. |

Stuff will be found, and something like- man’s domestication of the wolf timeline will get updated information, lines will blur between symbolic communication systems and written language, etc. Qualifying for Mensa is the average cognitive ability of degree holders in some of these areas of research, and well below the average in many a room where stuff is really happening. I have interests in a wide variety of things besides my degrees and profession, and get surprised by updates quite frequently. A bright hobbyist can’t remotely be as versed as someone who is very, very smart and working in a field full time for decades. Especially with media sources and articles meant for lay people, vs conferences full of experts and drawing from limited, esoteric sources and publications. A Mensa qualifying IQ without the education and experience is like being 7 feet tall and never having played D1 ball or been in the NBA. Your not really a contributor to professional basketball because you got a lot of slam dunks in high school. I first dicked around with stick welding and brazing as a kid in the 70s. But I am not a trained welder and don’t have decades of professional welding experience. I can fabricate and install subframe connectors on a car but There are types of welding I have never done. I have also had tools, timing light, etc. in my hands since then. About a 15 years ago I converted drums to discs on a ‘71 pony car. No problem. Around the same time I put better discs and pads on a new performance car. And had some issues because I had no idea I had to plug in a computer and tell the car it had just had a brake job. And plenty of other things I’m not as up to speed on as a current pro, etc. |
