Has she ever seen full bodied, detailed shadow people in clothing? If so, are/were they human or inhuman? View Quote Not human, and not good. The way I understand it, is that shadows are bad things that never were human. Dead humans (good, bad, or in between) look like they did at some point in their life. They have a faint grayish outline around their body, but otherwise look just like a person should. Occasionally, one of them will be downright nasty (like died badly and hasn't gotten over it) but most seem to unknowingly pick an age from when they were the most comfortable. (Like my grandpa and his mother. He was 76, she was 101 when they died. He appears in his late 40s, her slightly older) |

Quoted: Okay, just to clarify, an entry mat (to wipe shoes on) is okay, but avoid the ones that actually spell out "welcome"? Because that is something I have always done, just on the theory that a "welcome" to anyone at my doorway was a bit too much, and it just felt...wrong. Friends and family are always welcome, but there are plenty of bad folk out there, and a literal, written "welcome" at my door always felt like a "psychic" invitation that may have inadvertently attracted attention from some bad people, like they could pick up a vibe I would be receptive to them in some way if I already "welcomed" them. I never even thought about incorporeal entities "reading" it, though...now I am creeped out! View Quote |

You know that thing that you can kinda see out of the corner of your eye, but when you try to look right at it... it's gone? I have been getting that off-and-on lately.
I have felt far more than I have ever seen. There is some wild crap just oozing around L.A., running up and down the streets, and even flying around. City of Angels has some demons too. |

Quoted: I asked her that first question before. She said that it could be possible because some people die and are never seen again, while others hang around. Where did they go? No one knows. View Quote |

I have felt far more than I have ever seen. There is some wild crap just oozing around L.A., running up and down the streets, and even flying around. City of Angels has some demons too. Actually, the explanation I've found that was the most fascinating for the 'shadows/movement out the corner of your eye' is the infrasound theory. I first read about it several years ago. The guy who made the discovery, happened upon it by sheer accident. An engineer who worked in a building that had a recently been experiencing a lot of these types of 'movement out the corner of your eye, but when you look, there's no one there', and 'generally feeling uneasy, like you're being watched' type stuff. The account of the discovery that I read, was that he was an avid amateur fencer, and had brought his fencing foil to work for some reason. When he placed it on a stand, he noticed the tip vibrating. He reasoned that it must be some kind of resonant frequency that was inaudible, so he brought some audio measuring equipment to investigate. What he found was that the newer ventilation ducting that had been installed some time back, was producing a vibration at about 17Hz (19Hz?). After doing a little more research, he discovered that those frequencies produce a sympathetic vibration in the aqueous humor in a lot of people's eyes. Small enough that you don't feel your eyeballs vibrating, but enough that it can create the, "I thought I saw movement out the corner of my eye" illusion. These frequencies are below the range of human hearing, but the body can feel them. Some sound mixers (Randy Thom is a notable one) have been mixing infrasonic sound effects into movies, down to single digit Hz, even though commercial theaters roll off hard below 30-40Hz. Bass nuts with infrasonic capable HT setups though, absolutely love it. (Eg. In the Tom Cruise remake of War Of The Worlds, when the geound shakes as the aliens first begin emerging, my floor and walls in the HT shake from the infrasound. Probably not the greatest for structural integrity, but the effect is awesome ). There are movies that have used these 17-19Hz tones, and they add a noticeable effect, that can make the hair on my arms stand up. The infrasound angle piqued the engineer's curiosity, so he started investigating all the reputedly 'haunted' sites around the city, using the audio measuring equipment, and found that many of the most haunted sites, had these frequencies from some source. One of the noted ones was a haunted basement. A lot of folks had mentioned that the moment they stepped into the stairwell leading to the basement, they were immediately hit by a strong, "NOPE" sensation, and refused to go any further. When he took the measurements there, he found high levels of 17-19Hz infrasound in that stairwell. Apparently, the heavy machinery in the nearby factory was transmitting infrasonic vibrations through the ground, and the stairwell happened to be the right length/dimensions for a resonant chamber at those frequencies. This could be one of those things that some folks are more sensitive to, than others. P.S. This post is simply discussing possible explanations for the, "I saw something out the corner of my eye" experiences. Full bodied apparitions are whole different ballgame. |

has your wife ever seen the ghost of someone she knew before they died?
has a ghost ever indicated that they were better off dead than when they were alive, as in out of pain, misery, or turmoil? before they died, did deceased relatives come to get them a day or so before? |

when she sees them do they typically look "normal" or are there some that are messed up? Like if the ghost of a chinese factory worker came back after an industrial machine accident.

Op. Thank you for the update and please thank your wife too. The movie gun analogy was perfect! My condolences on your loss of your cat as well. Those are very difficult to handle.
If you don’t mind, I have a couple of follow up questions. Does she view her abilities as a gift, a curse or a mixture of each or something else? Does she socialize with other people like her? Are there places that she avoids due to her abilities? I’m imagining that a location that had significant loss of life might be overwhelming (such as say the WTC site or Gettysburg). Or am I way off base? |

Quoted: Like what the poster above said, in places that have had a large number of deaths, does she see them everywhere? In groups? View Quote Some places haveva higher concentration of dead people. Pike county Kentucky has a lot of them, she said. There's a cemetery there where about a third of the graves and stones have ghosts just sitting or standing there. They dont know what to do so they just congregate over their bodies. Yes, there are dead people literally everywhere. |

One more question, has she ever seen anything having to do with the "orbs" that a lot of people claim to see, or does she have an opinion on those? Sorry if this has already been covered.

Interesting thread.
I have been very slightly precognizant (e.g. having precognition) since a very early age but have never talked about it to anyone as it really has no bearing on my life in general. At a family dinner not long ago my teenage son asked the table if anyone ever "sees things that are going to happen" like it was a normal, every day occurrence for him. My wife was all "wtf, no that never happens and can't be real", he and I talked about it later. Enough about that, what are your wife's thoughts regarding talismans, relics etc. in regards to supernaturals? I have Middle Eastern relatives and there are a few nazar scattered around the house for general purpose. |

Why does she think she's able to see them and does she get the sense it's for a specific reason?

Has your wife ever detected something akin to a Bigfoot or similar?
I am just going off of a Swag here, but if she sees the spirits of humans, why wouldn’t she see something that resembles the early hominids (humanoids?) that once inhabited the earth? No harm meant and not trolling... |

Story time.
Ok, first let me say that ouija boards are nothing but cardboard and plastic made in a Chinese sweatshop. However, the idea behind it is what gives the users the perceived power to conjure up spirits. You dont need the board, but it builds the confidence to get the job done. Ask the dead, and they will show up sometimes. Anyway, my brother told me of a time when he and our cousin were home alone and decided to dick around with the board. There were rumors that the man who had built our childhood home haunted it. Lots of shit happened there. Enough that every resident took notice. They learned that he in fact was there, along with his sister (both were elderly) and a teenaged girl. He stayed for a reason (if you're curious I'll go into more detail in another post) So he told me this after I asked him about some supernatural things going on at his current home. I never told my wife. Instead I drove her to the old house (my uncle owns it now, uses it for a rental) and parked in the driveway. I asked her if she noticed anything about the house. She told me there was an old man and woman in the living room looking out the window at us, as well as a young girl with red hair sitting on the outside steps. |

Have you ever seen anything when you with her? In my case, my wife and I like to walk around the local cemetary to get some exercise, (it is pine tree lined and cool in the summer, unlike the southern Utah desert surrounding it). Anyway, I was not much of a believer about ghosts or spirits and I just tried to humor her (been married 34 years and learned what to argue about). One evening we were walking around the cemetary when she said "look over there". When I looked I saw a young boy dressed in overalls with one strap holding them up over a red shirt (looked to be 10-12 years old) walk between two trees and then disappeared. She told me that he had drowned while swimming in the local creek and was waiting for his parents to find him. Another time, she said look at the guy leaning up against the shed, sure enough there was a dark figure leaning there and when I looked at her and then looked back he was gone. She said "he is one of the bad ones I see from time to time". I don't envy her that ability, and had I not seen the same thing on two occasions I would have just brushed it off as part of being married to a crazy redhead.
