I installed a Geiselle rail for a customer a couple of days ago. It looked great and felt solid. However, it felt a little large and blocky. Not terrible but not sleek. Kind of how a Glock 21 feels. View Quote One of my only complaints with G rails, they aren't exactly ergonomic. |

Alg - so far I have 3 of their rails. A new budget vo-e model, a v2 and a v3

I've been happy with my MI rails. I do use the supplied green loctite.
The 2A armament rails look nice and are great for weight. I wish they had built in qd sling attachment points. |

I agree. I have a 15 Mk8 FDE. never installed. I'm thinking about selling it because it's....not right. It's not ergonomic. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yeah, I always describe it as having nearly the bulk of a quad rail without the cheese grater feel. Outside of some specific circumstances/accessory requirements, it doesn't bother me though. |

I think key mod and Molok are a step back.
Both are weaker then a plain old Picatinny rail. Change for the sake of change and to market something different. A slick side with bolt on Picatinny rail sections is the best option in my OP. If the market takes a step back so be it. |

But, the good thing about keymod and mlok is that they are standards so things that are made to those standards should interchange. With slick handguards and truly proprietary mounting methods for rail sections and accessories (how it was before keymod/mlok) it meant you were sort of stuck with the mfg of the handguard for those add-ons. There was *some* crossover and some variety of mounts available for certain handguards, but now there's more available and at lower costs when you go with the standards. I still prefer a bolt on rail/mount or actual picatinny as part of the handguard. ETA: I forgot...my favorite mlok handguard is Larue. Oh...they don't make one. But if they did that'd be my favorite. From all that I've used so far I'd say SLR is my favorite mlok handguard though. |

So you wouldn't have an issue with bolting on a rail section to an MLOK or Keymod handguard and going from there? ETA: Also Keymod and MLOK are not really proprietary (quite the opposite actually) they're more like a standard, no different than Picatinny. |

Another vote for MI MLOK rails...
I have the Gen 3 AR rails, the .308 MLOK rail, and just recently got a Suppressor Compatible MLOK rail for my 9mm AR. I appreciate that they are less expensive than many, still look good, are easy to install, and are lightweight. |

Favorite or best value?
Best value for me are the MI rails. I have three or four MLOKs and they're fantastic |

With a bolt on rail section all that would be needed to make a standard is the thread count and distance between bolt holes. Better yet is the old picatinny rail. |

I really want to like the Geisseles but the ALG EMR just feels better in my hand. The Geisseles feel a hair more robust though.

Want to go budget? Look at Aero @ Schyulers. So bored I even looked it up for you. Dealer is on ARF and GTG. rail damn thats a good looking rail for the price. I own a couple and I have been very happy. Caveat: Made for their enhanced upper (which is awesome) or buy a $22 BAR barrel nut . Mounts to a Aero Precision M4E1 upper or purchase a BAR Aero Precision barrel nut to use on a standard upper |

Mounts to a Aero Precision M4E1 upper or purchase a BAR Aero Precision barrel nut to use on a standard upper I own two of the Enahnced M LOK rails and use the BAR. Super light, well first finished , secures well and has anti rotation tabs but it doesn't have a built in QD. My only complaint. Definitely like them over the Seekins I grabbed but never used. I was pretty certain I wanted G product on the last build but gave up the weight on the HG for a heavier barrel. Happy with the decision and to be honest I don't use 85% of any rail for anything more than a HG. |

Great combo for the price. I like that it's essentially a monolithic rail. That being said, Aero released a new Gen 2 version of their handguards that feature a built in QD socket a few days ago, so get ready to spend more money. |

I like my Geissele MK8, but I also like the simpler and cheaper ALG I threw on my pistol AR. Either pretty much appears ready for action.

UTG
Honestly not bad though but I still have a a Gieselle and MI allegedly coming from Santa |

Out of all the manufactures who do you all think has the most secure "Best" method of attaching the rail to the upper
That is the main selling point for me. |

SLR makes the nicest rails with alot of options.
At this point BCM is just stupid at this point, cutting off their nose to spite their face. I can't imagine the tens of thousands of dollars they have lost by not making an MLR. |

I would like a V Seven Lithium Aluminum on a TI KMR barrel nut MLOK if they could get together on it...

View Quote Hard to beat the system Geissele has come up with, IMO. I looked at the MI rails a good but before choosing Geissele, and just couldn't get past having to use Loctite to basically glue the rail into place (at least that's how it looked like it worked to me). |

They make a great product, it works good. and here is the best part... I don't have to shell out a ton of cash for a rail. Big MI fan, and their local boys in my state... Win. I see no reason to spend over $200 on a MLOK rail system. |
