Thinking back on my days in the military, it occurred to me (since I was 17 when I joined) that people born in 1989 are now eligible for military service.

Jeez...it doesn't seem that long ago.

-Tiananmen Square
-The fall of the Berlin Wall
-Invasion of Panama

Time flies...where were you?

I was there.

Let's see, we had been married 6 years by then, our son was 3. Hubby and I both out of the military by then and hubby was in the National Guard. Watched the Berlin Wall fall, and wished we were still back there since we were stationed there. Hubby was concidering going back in,but the fall of the wall didn't help at that point.

Center Grove????

Graduated Decatur Central HS, granted not in 89, but 97.  89 I was still living in Akron, OH, and two years later the US Navy decided they did not require the use of their new Advanced Nuclear Attack Sub (Seawolf Class), so my Dad got laid off from Babcox and Wilcox since there was no need for the new boiler units.

Anyone remember the original name for the new Seawolf class sub?

Hint it wasn't the Seawolf.
