Beretta 92 FS, I still have it.
Thousands of rounds have been shot through it, never had a single problem with it. |
|
My first was a H&K USP 9mm.
The 40's were on back order, so I got the 9. When the 40 came in, I sold the 9 to my brother. Before I got the 40, the crime bill passed. The 9 held 15 rounds, the 40 holds 10. Since then, I have never sold another gun. |

Savage 24v 222/20ga Dad bought it when I was 2 for me to grow into it.. 8 years ago through my stupidity, its the only rifle I didn't sell. The only New-Years resolution I kept, year 2000, getting back into shooting, I am still here[:)] Now I swear I will never sell another firearm.

In 1979 I bought myself a Ruger Old Model Super Single Six .22 with a 6 1/2" barrel.
Back then, a Bargain Mart newspaper and some cash was all you needed to pick up just about any gun you wight want. |
|
My first gun: an old pre-SN Winchester Model 67 .22 single-shot bolt action that had been through a house fire and been refinished. My grandfather gave it to me when I was quite young. HIS father (a woodworker) had hand-made the replacement stock - a beautiful, slender walnut job with brass embellishments & a Schnaebel (sp.?) forend. I never really appreciated that rifle (aesthetically or sentimentally) until I was an adult - I certainly wish I had shown more appreciation to my grandfather regarding it when he was alive, but you know how kids are. I still have it and, of course, wouldn't part with it.
First gun I bought: a Mossberg 500 Cruiser in 12 gauge, on the day of my 18th birthday (being able to legally purchase my own gun was for me what turning 16 and getting a driver's license is to most teenagers). I still have it, but several years ago I turned it into a Bullpup with one of those kits from Gun Parts Corporation. |
|
Christmas 1958...(11 Y.O.) Mossberg bolt action 410 shotgun w/ adjustable choke...still got it...[:D] I also got a lead soldier kit ..poured my own molten lead into molds..[shock] drank water thru a garden hose too...don't know how I've managed to survive this long...[rolleyes]

My first firearm was a Marlin 25N that my dad and grandma got for me when I was 11.
I love that thing. |

Marlin model 60. Still have most of it. Playing amateur gunsmith had a way of taking its toll.
First pistol was a high standard double derringer in .22 mag, I delivered pizzas for a few years and it made me feel a bit better in certain areas late at night. First centefire was a Chinese Mosin M44, I blame that gun for both getting me into reloading and inspiring me to get a C&R license. Oh the money I have spent.... |
|
Mossberg bolt action 410. Got it in about 1951. I thought we had to be the richest people on earth for me to have a gun that nice. Bad thing is, I don't have a clue where it is today.

Since I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY I started late...I bought one of those "New Plastic Guns" a Glock G23.

Quoted: Browning .22 auto with stock feed and bottom action/cartige ejection. Looks like a heroin skinny shotgun. My dad now has it and sorry I don't know the model. View Quote That was the first gun I ever fired! I was 4 years old, my father and grandfather took me out into the woods north of San Antone and taught me to shoot it. He still has it. The first gun I ever bought was an Olympic Arms HBAR AR-15, but I have a small collection of guns given to me by family that started when I was 9 with a Marlin lever action 30-30. |

hey steyr,
That is the nicest firearm I have seen posted in this forum in long time. Lugers like that are not very common. I will now have to take your posts more seriously, DAMMAIT! j/k I will take a pic of a friends collection and post it for any of the other luger drones out there. It consists of several VERY nice pistols as well as a factory cut-away and various other items. CH |

High Standard 22LR 9 shot revolver, single action. Sprayed lead from every chamber.
Ruger 10/22 came next...$50 used! Then Ruger M77 220 Swift, Winchester M70 243, M70 264 WM, etc, etc, etc... Never looked back...and I do not plan to stop. |
|
My first gun was a WesternField M865 .22 lever action (built by Mossberg and the same as their 602 I think). My grandfather gave it to me when I turned 14. I still have it.

Quoted: How the hell did you break a Makarov...? This I gotta hear! View Quote Well, first the slidestop/ejector broke into two pieces, replaced that. Then some other part (forgot which) disintegrated, replaced that too, and to top it all, the slide started to crack (pics available) so I sold her to ...well, I just sold her. Was a fun and accurate gun, caught lots of shit for buying it (this was before the E.German Makarov C&R craze) and I really liked her, but in the end not worth the hassle. Sticking to wartime P-38s since then :-) |

It's sounds like your misfortune w/your Mak changed the statistics for the rest of us...You got every problem so the rest of us could be bug free.
