Going by rock radio play, the 80's and the last 10-15 years have been, and were, very very very very bad.

Dude, nothing personal, but that's a savage poll fail.
80s is the only possible answer. |
70s stunk except for select few.
80s, the music, the hair, GREAT stuff, David Lee Roth swinging over the audience while Eddie ripped up that red striped up FrankenCaster, what's not to love about that. Panama, 1984. Def Leppard, Duran Duran (yep even pop, euro stuff was fun) 90s grunge was just a bit to morose. The Alternative scene really took off and presented some good indie music. GooGoo Dolls, is a great band from the era. 2K, well meh, Rock and Roll died... :( expect Dave Matthews These days, great music, just turn off the radio. Fall Out Boy saved or resurrected rock, Bastille from the euro side of the pond. Even Bruno Mars stuff is fun to listen too. For singer/songwriter stuff Ed Sheeran is an incredible talent, a one man band who uses technology but does not let the looper or autotune rule his music. He literally plays the looper to fill in where he has no band but makes the loops on the stage as part of the music instead of a prerecorded backing track. Not a huge fan of any country stuff but I have gone to Kenny Chesney and he puts on a good solid show. |

The one that made mullets, Camaros, and guys who looked like bitches seem stupid

I never walked out of a store, restaurant, or bar because the noise environment made me want to do horrible things to people until fairly recently. Now it happens quite often. Some of that is because I'm such an old fart but some of it is because the noise is so horrible. Stupid has become very popular lately in music and in life in general but it is still stupid. Unfortunately it is not as painful and deadly as it once was and needs to be.

None of the prior decades of music scenes can possibly equal the suck we are currently experiencing in music. Slayer should be armed with beltfeds and sent to the next Grammys to make things right!

Either way, I'm going to exit the thread now because I'm becoming dumber by the minute reading this filth. |

2010 to Current..........all of the new music now SUCKS!! It's all a bunch of crap that is saved, or attempted to be saved but autotuneing the crap out of it, and running it through the editing process 100 times until you can make it sound half way decent. It's all the same old stuff.....nothing original. It's all about the money, not about the music.

I don't know where the 70's suck crowd has come from but the only thing that sucked in the 70's was a lot of the disco movement. The 80's was good other than Rap and the offshoot hip hop garbage. Nobody has done anything worth listening to since the mid 90's.

Current:
Bro Country is spreading like a plague Rock is irrelevant Rap is pussified The biggest acts are DJs oh and Bieber |
I vote the 80s. It was the decade full of sexually confused men/women/not sure people floating around the stage. With the exception of a few metal bands, the 80s was 100 percent gay.
Jesus Christ. The 70s soft rock was where all the good music came from.
America Firefall Doobie brothers Steely dan Fleet wood |
90s
was some crap in 70s and 80s but was some epic music from those decades that will be timeless. Some 90s were good but musicians had much less talent in the 90s |
Every decade had bad music. If I had to pick one that was just unbearable I'd say the 50's. I can't stand the doo-wop shit that came out of that decade.
LOL!! The 70's produced GREAT music. Most of the people commenting on 70's music probably weren't even born then.
Boston Jethro Tull The Stones Led Zepplin Lou Reed ZZ Top Fleetwood Mac Rod Stewart Bruce Springsteen….. he had some good songs in the 70's The Eagles Uriah Heep AC/DC The Who Pink Floyd AND many others. Fucking kids!! To answer the OP's question……. the 80's SUCKED!!! |

Good music died around 1990 - 1992. The 70's and 80's were awesome in the rock/metal world. I agree. There are, of course, good bands and talented people making music, but, as a whole, it has sucked as a whole since the mid 90s. |

2010s
Auto-tuned to fuck club shit, poppy-country shit, or pansy-ass acoustic coffeehouse shit |
If we are talking pop
1980s or 2010s. They seem to be equally shit. blue oyster cult was awesome. So were a bunch of other 70s bands. |
Ill say the 70's as a whole yet they produced some of the best music ever. Yet as a whole (Think Captian and Tenile .SP.) and ABBA they kinda sucked. Id also throw the 2000's as a runner up. The 2000's sucked hard
