Usually 60 - 65. And I'm quite sedentary most of the time.

70s-80s 5+ years ago when all I did was lift weights.  Now 50-60 after 5 years of cycling and racing.  On the flip side, my MHR was 212 this season.

Im about the same.

My resting is mid to upper 50s and I've had it up around 210 sprinting out the last bit of runs.  Kinda freaked me out how wide the range was lol.

Low to mid 40s in the summer when I am trained and fit.  52-55 right now mid winter.  My max is about 192 when unfit and 187 mid season.  I am a 25 year cyclist and 48 years old. I am not typical at all.

Around 102 usually.

I'm 40 yrs old, 6'4", 225 lbs., and out of shape. So out of shape that something like unloading groceries makes me sweat and get out of breath. Desk job is gonna kill me.

I take it if I started going to the gym on a regular basis I'd see a lower heart rate?  I used to always be in good shape. I guess age is catching up with me.

About 50 resting.  Even during heavy aerobics I've had trouble getting it above 100bpm without going 100% full out, which doesn't last long.

I'm hypothyroid (being treated), I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

YES, some mild exercise to start with would lower your BPM.
40 is not old (I thought it was when I was 15).
Age is not catching up with you, your not taking good care of yourself is catching up to you.
Just EASE in to a routine of walking, stretching, eating better.
Ease in to it and make it an new life style, not hard to do.
You would be amazed at how fast you will feel better, AND, be proud of your self.
Took a while to get out of shape, takes awhile to get back into it.

Been sitting here at the computer for a couple of hours and just measured it at 56bpm.  A whole lot better than 150bpm resting heart rate back in July when I was in the hospital with the docs trying to get it to slow down.  And a whole lot better than a year and a half ago when it was down in the upper 20s and low 30s at rest or two years ago when it was in constant AFIB.
