Without a doubt it was an H&H double in 500/450, followed by a Searcy double in .470 nitro. IMHO, big bore doubles, especially the older ones are the ultimate in firearms. Standing down a charging lion, elephant or buff with only two rounds is living, or dying depending on how cool you play it!

Hmm.

Prior to this year it was the NM M14 I shot at a CMP shoot. That thing was beautiful and shot well. Since I rented some FA though... MP5 and a Shorty 9mm M16 top the list.

I've never had the chance to shoot full auto, so my choices will seem tame to some.  To me history makes a firearm more enjoyable to shoot.  That said, the Rifleman's rifle, my 1903A3 thrills me every time I take it out.

Another in the coolness factor for me is a Type 14 Japanese Nambu.

I shot a few bursts from a GAU-17 (I think it was the 17) on my last ship.

It is a 7.62 electric gatling gun on a .50 cal tripod mount.
