Quoted: Yeah, exhaust brake would be a more accurate term, but works as descent control too :PQuoted: Think the left is diff lock and the right is descent control, maybe? The ring and crescents are the same as on a parking brake symbol... Thanks |

I would agree with the people who actually helped lol. Left seems to be the transfer case lock which would probably put you in the super low 4 wheel drive. Just a guess but would probably make front and back wheels turn at same speed and very hard to turn and stuff. Had a friend who had a H2 and with the super low 4 it could pull anything lol. I watched him pull a work van out of a snowy ditch that my buddy couldn't get out with his super duty with lots of stuff done to it lol. The other still confuses me seems to be a pto does the truck have a dump bed? No dump bed. |

left is problably a transfer case lock/unlock. DO NOT UNLOCK your transfer case unless you're familiar with the effects of it. I won't say another thing, except READ THE MANUAL READ THE THREAD |

right may be an exhaust brake Have you read the manual? No manual. Thanks though. |

They are for the UAW. One dispenses Obama votes, the other dispenses Viagra.

Oooh, I can tell by the upper right button you got the Bacon Dispenser equipped model.

Owner's manual. It's that "book" in the glove compartment. Yes, I know, it has pages and printing and is not a computer screen, but that's how they did things back in the day. THIS!!! Pathfinder |

I think the left button turns on the drum machine so you can keep beat when playing your guitar, a feature that (I think) was very overdue!!
|
|
Looks like the left is the secondary blinkerfluid intercooler and the right is the A.I.R filter shutdown.
|
|
transfer case disconnect and front end unlock.... for towing the vehicle
|
|
Left button is landing gear. Right button is countermeasures.

Assuming that you have a GM 4x4 5500, let me just say, "sweet."

I don't know but what ever you do don't go to a dealer and ask them.

Looks like a transfer case or differential lock and possibly the deck lamp.

The one on the left is the PTO and the one on the Right is the exhaust brake, same buttons on the 5500 on our service truck at work.

The one on the left is to disable NASCAR mode––it enables the vehicle to turn right. The one on the right activates the GPS restaurant locator, as indicated by an ear of corn on a plate. |

Left is not the GM button for diff lock. Still sounds like a PTO control. Right sounds like a jake brake now, but I've never had one of those
Is it a 4wd? |
|
left pto / high idle when park brake on
right is your exhaust brake. |

Nice truck, looks like fun to drive. What do you use it for? (besides "for work" obviously) I deal in some heavy equipment from time to time. The truck was available at a heavy equipment auction. I bought a excavator and a 5th wheel trailer, then realized I needed a truck too to pull it all back! I've sold the trailer, now I'll sell the truck. So in short.....re sale. |

Mount a CIWS on the back of that thing and it would make a great bugout vehicle?
|
|
Quoted: Anytime you see what looks like parentheses around a circle it is a brake system icon. The puff of smoke in the middle indicates exhaust system. Your truck has an exhaust brake installed (Jake Brake) it looks like. Is that what you guys are calling "Descent Control"? Mine just has a little drawing of the engine. No puffs of air. Stupid Kenworth dashboards... Then again, the high exhaust temp light for the DPF regen looks kinda like that but without the circle. That would get confusing |
