Quoted: My mother retired from Westinghouse NSG right before Viacomm/CBS bought them and that whole scattered thing went down in the 1990s. NSG is/was nuclear service division. I remember learning about reactors as a kid and going to a few facilities that would allow us in. Security used to be tight at one but that place is long since abandoned. Love hearing the recollections, Was this the Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Orlando facilities? Savannah River with the US DOE was also operated by Westinghouse by contract and of course the Naval Atomic Labs (Bettis) south of Pittsburgh. Facilities in Westmoreland Co. Pa. too. Small note, it was only about 4 years but Westinghouse actually bought out CBS as CBS was buying Infiniti Radio and merging with Viacom, as big as CBS was Westinghouse dwarfed it financially. Folks can be forgiven for getting it reversed because by 1999 Westinghouse spun off all their broadcasting and ad revenue businesses into a brand new CBS as it was selling off all their other divisions. But hey for about 4 years in the late 90s good old Westinghouse was the owner operator of the Tiffany network with all the lore it had with Lucy, Jackie Gleason etc. |
| Nuscale is one of maybe a half dozen new reactor designs in the pipe pipe line. Sorry to say but the fuel production is the hold up on all of them. Why we would ever would rely on the Russians for source supply blows my mind. Development is underway but until we are willing to process/reprocess our own inventory we will continue to creep along. |

Quoted: Would love to see massive numbers of these deployed all over the US for baseload power generation. We need that a lot more than we need windmills and solar panels. Moar nukez! Moar nukez!! If the climate is changing, why rely on climate-dependent power generation? |

Nope! The only fun on the planet currently is making the poors dance to the leetist whims. And safe, cheap, low maintenance power provision would mean less entertainment and money. Apparently there’s nothing to do on the planet for the chess piece wielders except war and internal wars, and milking the American cash cow to pay |
