I wish "complete" retro uppers were more widely available. Seems you have to build them yourself. I can handle swapping in a correct buttstock, but would like to be lazy and buy a whole upper that is correct and use my otherwise modern lower.

Close as I can get to "retro" for right now (yeah, I know, not very close).
Still waiting on my new upper. My Colt Government Carbine, at the range last week.

Watching TV as a kid in the 70's, it was THE gun that started my love affair with the black rifle.

I'm in the same age group, and remember them from the later, old Planet of the Apes movie, for some reason.
