Just watch the opening scene and turn the movie off, it is all you need to see.

This.

Why?

Yeah, I mean it was a little emotional and all but I didn't think it was that strong of an opening. Certainly didn't prepare me for the following scene.

While I like Red Dawn much more than ATHF, reading captions is not exactly the most entertaining way to open a movie.

Good choice.

I also like the Bond opening where he skies down the mountain with the parachute ending. A lot of Bond openings are pretty good.

Never seen it except for the super hacky opening scene that always gets posted here.

So fucking gay, and Sarah Silverman is so fucking annoying... even the "cool guys" in the scene come off as retarded fags.. The writing and dialog is so contrived and is obviously written as some loser's fantasy badass scene... I dunno.. Enjoy it if you must, but it makes me sad for the writer(s), actors, and fans of the scene.  May God have mercy on your souls.

ETA: and, yes, the ATHF movie opening scene is kickass!    I still listen to that every once in a while just for the hell of it if I"m checking out Carl's greatest hits on Youtube or something and it's one of the suggested videos.

I'll submit Layer Cake. Intro was a perfect set up for the story of X.
