I'm gonna go on the record now and say that social media is probably the worst thing to ever happen to society.  Complete strangers can say the most rude and vile things because they don't fear any consequences.  They don't say stuff like that to people's faces when they're likely to get their faces punched in, but they'll say it all day long on social media.

What other case? I know about the “cocksucker” one... is there more?

If you go on, their gonna try to make you look like a fool, aren’t they?

ETA: I see now you said “Legislator in capitol”. Don’t recall that one.

Just one example:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/derrick-evans-arrested-west-virginia-federal-charges-capitol-riot/

Evans, a newly elected Republican lawmaker, is facing bipartisan calls for his resignation. But Evans' lawyer told CBS affiliate WVNS-TV that he would not step down and he "committed no criminal act that day."

I thought Derrick Evans resigned?

I believe that article was written before his resignation.

Yes, the house republican leadership cheerily even issued a press release with his statement in it. He had no choice once the FBI had him perp walked.

Sucks to put all that work in to get elected and then have it end this way.

Good luck with your education clients. As long as none of them get charged I think you've got a hell of a case and kudos to you for being aggressive and immediately protecting their rights.

I never met the guy before the Capitol protest. I saw the social media stuff that night, since I was in a mediation all day, and I figured the SHTF for him, and that I'd be talking to him. He had a lot of support. I was holding them off. They still needed another 15 or so Republicans to turn on him to kick him out of office. But they couldn't be expected to support him after the FBI tipped off the tv news in time to get footage of him, etc. No doubt some still would have stuck behind him until the charges were resolved. But that would have been asking a lot. They're just misdemeanors, he'll be back, I think.

The teachers' unions stopped the legislature from authorizing charter schools, except some limited trial run or something. I'd say it will pass this go around.

Really?!? Most the people I know dislike me, all I have to do is get a Fed job and I'm going to Alaska!

WV has a long history of union thuggery. We have a big problem with teacher's unions here, and a lot of regular folks haven't understood the disconnect between their values and "supporting teachers." Though I think their days of power are numbered now that they've drawn a line in the sand.

Obviously, these seven pages of comments are not in support of what was done.

Democrats are wrong and un-American. People that support Democrats are wrong and contrary to our American values system. This is the result.

Yay! Power to the people! Keep voting for the Party. The Party will take care of you!

Class is in session.

https://wvrecord.com/stories/572218656-this-superintendent-of-schools-needs-some-schooling

Do we not have private lives anymore? Are we not free to disagree? Has our constitutionally-protected First Amendment right to free speech been suspended?

Ask Tina Renner and Pamela McDonald, two Jefferson County school bus drivers who attended the recent rally in Washington, D.C., to demonstrate support for President Donald Trump and to affirm their allegiance to our remarkable republic.

Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Bondy Shay Gibson suspended the two drivers for their display of patriotism and is now being sued by them in U.S. District Court.

Someone needs to give Gibson a civics lesson. Renner and McDonald may be the ones to do it.

I don't believe she'll be able to withstand this type of local media criticism long term...If you notice, that wasn't just a random editorial.

At the top, near the byline it stated "Our View", which usually means the opinion of the majority of the editorial staff of the newspaper.

What do you expect to come of it?  Your clients get their jobs back, sure. But then they're scrutinized and harassed until they get pressured to resign.  The commie superintendent will probably face no consequences.  Maybe be asked politely to resign and get a cushy job in another district where she's praised for standing up to the white devil.  I mean, I'd like to be wrong, but that's how I see these go.

I wasn't brought in to get their jobs back. I was brought in to haul her into federal court and pursue money damages. That's what I'm doing irregardless of whether they get their jobs back. Though one already has. The other has her disciplinary hearing this morning. Whether they fire her, keep her and praise her, whatever, is up to the voters and politicians in that AO.

Yep.  The school district saying "whoops, our bad, here's your job back" doesn't unring the bell of telling the public and media they are domestic terrorists.

If they vote to discipline/suspend/terminate these employees, the complaint will be amended to sue the county, with probably a "Monnell" claim - essentially a section 1983 lawsuit alleging an official policy and/or practice of civil rights violations. Possibly we could also name the individual board members and make claims directly against them as well.

Any idea where the board members lie on the Karen/freedom chart?

What about the parents in that district?
The non commies should be showing up at the administration building and or school board meetings
Parent have to get involved here and run for school board too
Don’t just leave these things up to the commies anymore!  Parents have to start Sacrificing some TV or internet time

Jefferson County is where Harper's Ferry is located. It's probably the richest county in West Virginia and it is a bedroom community for Washington DC. The commuter train goes from DC to Jefferson County. There are also two universities in the area, which is another reason it's so liberal.

For those who say "get involved locally", in my county in NOVA the school system has 200,000 students and an annual budget over $3 billion. An individual here has as much power as they would versus the New York City school system.

Also yesterday the "Outlaw Barber" who is one of my clients, was exonerated yesterday. I need some associates or something.

Superintendent refused to share her secret squirrel classified evidence with the board again?
Isn't that insubordination?
How iron clad is her contract, can the board fire her for just cause without paying her to leave?
