You mean the 19.5 correct? If so, then yes you are correct |

Glocks are the Honda Accord of pistols, cheap and nothing special.

You are correct. In fact, the G45 is the perfect handgun (for my hands).

Why would people who disagree come into this thread and tell you why they're wrong?

Meh.
Should have stuck with knives and shovels. Glock guns have been "just another pistol" for a couple of decades now. |

I agree. I do like my SP-01 and P-09 more for competition use...
But I love my 19X. The only bitch I have is the damn sights because you cover that target instead of splitting it in half with the front post. Would still consider it perfect even with the sights. The size, the trigger, no questions reliability. Cheap mags. Great tan color on the slide. The improved mag release is perfect in my book, wide and not too tall. I imagine only a few will agree, but the 19X and 45 are the best of many worlds. ETA: All my other glocks are gen3, no experience with a gen4, so maybe some of my mentioned likes appeared on the 4... Still love the 19X. |

Perfection is a mighty big claim, but Gen 3,4, and 5's are pretty damned good.

What's so special about the Gen 5. Last Glock I bought I compared a Gen 3 and Gen 4 side by side and chose the Gen 3.
FWIW, that gen 3 has been flawless for the 2 test rounds fired through it by Glock. I bought it for the wife and she's never fired it once. |

The front serrations are cancer. Also now that I have and carry the 19x I want a 26xx. 17 frame 26 slide.
I’m glad I surfed arf since I was 15ish yo and was properly educated and bought a 19 as my first handgun. |

Quoted: A cheap, always works as designed, will take care of you gun, that Yep, nothing special about that View Quote I pretty much don't like mine and will probably be trading it in when LGS gets something I want. I think it points everywhere but at the target. Terrible grip angle. |

CZ is best gun. That said if the zombies rised up I take my Glocks first. I might be a little autistic but I'm not retarded.
Yes Gen 5 is bestest Grock |
|
I really like Glock, but I don't have any Gen 5. Or even Gen 4.
My 19,21,22,& 26 have all been accurate and reliable and I have yet to wear them out to upgrade. I have replaced parts though. Recoil and trigger springs. |

Hit a bowling pin at 100yds 3 out of 8 shots after I sighted my DeltaPoint at 10yds this past weekend. (I know, I know I need to practice more lol)
Love my 19.5. Attached File |

I picked up a G19x in the gunstore last year, pulled the trigger twice and bought it on the spot.
have converted over to the 19x almost completely. I have a couple 19's to give to my kids or neighbors if necessary but the Gen5/19x is sooo much better. |

The big improvements are the internals. The MRBF has tripled compared to the Gen 3/4

Quoted: A cheap, always works as designed, will take care of you gun, that has more aftermarket support than any other firearm on the planet? Yep, nothing special about that View Quote I think the 1911 platform has a wider aftermarket support than glock. Lets face it, glock, you have a few people who do trigger stuff, sights we wont even count, anything cosmetic we wont count, a few barrel makers, thats about it. oh and a slide is a slide, just cosmetic 1911, throw out cosmetic and sights again, that leaves probably 30 different companies who do trigger, hammer, safties, grips, etc etc. Glocks work, but the triggers suck ( i have not shot a gen 5 ) the grip angle is all wrong ( sure you can train to it, but its not natural ) You want different grips, well you can attack it with a soldering iron. Ok lets fix the grip angle, means you need to grind it away and build it up with glue. I am not saying the 1911 is the be all end all, but glock certifiably is not. |

The cutout at the bottom of the grip stops the G19-5 shy of perfection.

They are great guns. I still have a gen 3, but I really do like the gen 5.
Attached File Though it now has a TLR7A on. |

Quoted: Glocks are the Honda Accord of pistols, cheap and nothing special. View Quote That's why accords and glocks are pretty good daily divers.... I'm not a huge glock fan, but I shoot them well and I don't give a shit if it gets banged around, or god forbid, I have to USE it and then lose it. Oh well. Easy to get another. There are BETTER guns, but not many better for an EDC. |

I'm kind of coming around to your way of thinking.
Was carrying an HK of some stripe, now thinking my 19X and G48 are a better fit for me. Ouch. Not true Gen 5 some people say, but close. |
|
VP9/P30 > Glock.
HK invented the plastic wondernine. Old Gaston just made a low poly copy.... |
|
|
I'm going to be the odd guy here, and say I prefer the Gen3 19, the finger grooves fit my hand perfectly.
That makes this more of a preference thing for me. But generally I agree on Glocks overall, and the Gen5 is a damn good pistol. |
|
If a humanoid compatible grip angle was not integrated into the new design, fail.
|
|
Thread ending post.
IF they were in fact perfection, there would be ABSOLUTELY ZERO AFTERMARKET PARTS, NOR ANY NEED FOR SUCH PARTS. Occam's Razor folks. |
