After reading some of the Obummer crediting statuses of some of my Liberal Facebook Connections, I posted this early this morning.

A few of my Facebook connections are touting Obummer as the man who got Bin Laden. Um, if Mr. O had his way, all of our troops would've been home while Osama continued to breathe. So, Mr. President, sit down unless you're standing up to acknowledge your flawed position and praise the Armed Forces of these United States. They've completed the task that you set out to give up on. God Bless our troops.

To which one of them responded, albeit respectfully,

I believe he did praise the troops in his address, Stout*. I too want to stand up and thank the troops of this nation and all they have done for our freedom. But does it have to be 100% one or the other? Boo Obama to say yay for the troops and freedom? I would like to say, yeah President Bush for all he did to get us to this point; and yeah President Obama for continuing the vigilance. And YAYAYAYAYAYA to the troops who steadfastly served under both, regardless of political affiliation or belief. I quite agree they are the true heroes.

But, as the token pinko liberal of your friends, I also need to point out that Osama bin Laden was found in Pakistan –– not Iraq (or Afghanistan for that matter), but deep in Pakistan.

Ok, let the responses begin! I'll take it all on the chin. ;) But, I say the above with the utmost respect for all opinions and political affiliations. I was genuinely moved last night by the President's reminder that on Sept. 11, 2001 we, as a nation, came together to comfort one-another, grieve with one another and stand tall with one another; regardless of color, creed, class or political party. May we do so again.

*Just some quotes from the speech to back-up my belief that Obama did thank the troops and is giving credit where credit is due:
"I could not be prouder of our men and women in uniform," the president said. "That is true now in today's wars, and it has been true in all of our wars and it is why we are here today."
"We are fortunate to have Americans who dedicate their lives to protecting ours."
"We may not always know their names, we may not always know their stories, but they are always there on the front lines of freedom and we are truly blessed."

Libtard, couldn't you have posted a little more to solidify your stance so as to avoid ambivalence? LOL!
Your are not the only Liberal friend I have but since you ARE the only one who posted a reply, you can be representative of that viewpoint. Lucky you, right? :0)
As any standing President with a staff worth our tax dollars, how could his teleprompter not urge him to read praise for our Armed Forces? I would not dispute a fact. Anyone reading a transcript of his speech or actually watching the video would know he gave our military credit, among others just as deserving. What was sorely lacking was the admission that though he originally held a belief that our mission in the Middle East was flawed and that all of our troops should be brought home as soon as possible, he was WRONG. This needed to come to this end, Osama Bin Laden DEAD!
I can tell you with no uncertainty that as someone who was working on a New York City 911 truck listening to events unfold over our communications network as thousands of Americans were murdered in one fell swoop as the result of the attacks on September 11th and who had friends killed that day, I know for a fact that every Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Daughter or Son who had a loved one murdered that day will sleep peacefully tonight with the knowledge that the Prick is dead and currently fish food. I, myself, am hoping that some of him is already passing through the rectums of aquatic life with a rather fast GI tract. May that Bastard rot in Hell! (*Or whatever your religion, if you follow a religion, calls their version.) *This last part was not directed at you Libtard, just a statement.

God Bless our troops, God Bless the brave members of the Special Forces that engaged and eliminated this demon and God Bless America.

I think it fits into this thread very nicely. Names changed for the fun of it.
