Are people taking their kids to this?

Or is this one of those cases where after the pepper spray, tear gas and hickory shampoo are dispensed, folks point out the stupidity of the man taking children to a gun rally?

Even the NRA says that these are a waste of time...and I'm in California.  I'm not driving 16 hours to show up with twelve other guys, for a useless demonstration that's likely to have a larger counter-demonstration.

I tried to get this going in the California HTF, and on Calguns, as well.  Interest is not quite zero, but you could hit zero with a thrown rock.  I won't waste my time if others can't be bothered.

I freely admit I'm not a leader.  I'll support it if I thought it was going to be worthwhile, but I'm a basement-dweller-looking-thing, and not a good representative of our culture.

December 23, 1776

THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country;...

I see your already giving up...

Yeah.  I'm a surrender-monkey. Tell you what, Mr. Historical Quote: That quote was made after the battles of Lexington and Concorde.  Let a battle be fought--and not some useless gesture that the MSM will use to make us look even worse than we already do--and see where I stand before you challenge my adherence to the Constitution.

You have made it quite clear your adherence to the Constitution!

You're exactly right.  I got 20 years of service, five shiny rows of medals, and lost the ends of three of my fingers to show my service to the Constitution.

Me and my wife are going to both.  Me and a lot of the people I know believe that his should be an event similar to the Tea Party marches where most people had some sort of long rifle slung on their back. I'm personally going carry my EDC weapon like always but I'm going to have my rifle slung on my back with an empty (windowed) P-mag and a chamber flag for good measure.  I think everyone should have a slung long rifle with an empty "high cap mag"(if your allowed to in your state). It worked well for the Tea Party, the media noticed and reported on it, plus its what they are focusing on banning. They need to know we won’t give them something small or large to save the overall amendment like in 94. We won’t give an inch not magazines, weapon types or furniture, nothing.

The two dates are far enough apart to go to both. But I am worried that the protests aren't soon enough. Legislation is being pushed through right now.
This needs to be spread around to everyone you know, it needs to be huge.

By the way I think business casual would help.  Real Tree and torn jeans help push their depiction of all of us.  I'll be in a tie.  I also order two flags from Gadsden and culpeper and I think I'm going to bring a flag I recieved from my Congressman that was flown over the U.S. Capital, it sems fitting.

Tea Party Rally

I think that's the problem. The offical march was next month, Saturday was suppose to be the day everyone went to the range or gunshop. It's mutated since the king as threatened us with emperior decrees the past 2 weeks

As per State law... I'll have my EDC on me as well.

ETA: We have over 500 people that either will, or may, attend.

Personally, I don't care if I'm the only one standing out there. I'm still going.

You think the only battles that count are the ones where you stand in nice neat lines, advance slowly and take potshots at each other? How about the battles fought with the microphone, the leaflet, the crowds rallied on a street corner? How about all the battles you've already lost without your opponents ever needing to fire a shot?

Heck yeah I'll be brave! Braver than a tiger! Braver than six o' them! Just... err... maybe some other time

Great!! The Florida event is 3 miles from my house! 4 minutes away.
ETA:

Florida Second Amendment Rally

Location: Hernando County Fairgrounds

Address: 6436 Broad Street, Brooksville, FL 34601

When: January 19, 2013

Time: Noon till 3p.m.

Cool.  I thought it would be in Tallahassee, which would be tough for me that day.  Hopefully, at the very least, all those people who flock to the Hernando Machine Gun Shoot will be there.  Imagine if it looked like the last Tampa Gun Show.

I'm not an experienced demonstrator but I have seen how little it takes for a demonstration to go south when some outsiders put some energy into it.

Far fetched for it to happen here I imagine.

As far as Florida, well, I agree, it's better than KS in most every way.      Our hurricanes are smaller though.
