Right now all we have is a guy being randomly pulled out unannounced and told to comply. I would have difficulty with that if that scenario happens to me. But in the future videos one of the guys says he stopped, and then drove around their car and stopped again. If that happened, then that could explain the drag out. There is no excuse for the haymakers, field goal kicks, and tee ball shots with the baton. Shit was fucked up. |

Plenty of guys on arf have said that they're guys with clean backgrounds, with absolutely no reason for them to ever have cops break into their home. And if they did, they would treat it as a home invasion and do the needful, because they're so squeaky clean that those men must be police impostors. That could be the case here. Tyre might have had a clean background, had no idea why all these guys just dragged him out of his car, and in a panic, took off. I'd like to hear the officer's point of view on why they took the actions they did. |

The suspect fought two sets of cops…went from standing to prone to OC to standing to taser to running…escape for a while…to standing to prone to standing to finally getting cuffed in standing position while fighting…to seated against a car and finally stopping his resistance. He must have had serious cardio. That’s a crazy long fight. He likely physically fought 10 people inside 30 minutes while covered in OC. |

You don’t cuff someone actively resisting..,cuffs go on when resisting has mostly stopped. Otherwise, the suspect will use the cuffs as a weapon and you have to shoot them while they go brass knuckles on your face with your own cuffs. |

Dude wasn't interested in complying, I'd be that's pretty common in Memphis Police were unfit for their job, got emotional after the mace, and decided this dude was going to get beaten to death Despite the tens (if not hundreds) of millions of dollars spent and years wasted on police reform, clearly it's not working. It's even possible some of these police were hired as a direct result of said reform Without having a white guy directly involved, none of the government officials in Memphis have any idea how to speak to this. It's kind of interesting watching them squirm a bit not being able to automatically kick into the same old song and dance. |

The cops were aggressive immediately. Tyre was calm in the beginning. He said ok to their commands many times. The officers could have easily de-escalated the situation and cuffed him had their been their real intention. If you watch the video, it seems likely he ran because he felt scared by how aggressive the police were towards him for what was supposedly just a traffic violation stop. Considering he was near his parents house when they caught him (and he mentions he was just trying to get home in the first video), it stands to reason he was trying to run home. It has been mentioned multiple times but they never truly gave him the ability to comply. They pulled him out of the vehicle immediately. They threw him to the ground on his side and threatened to use a taser and pepper spray within seconds of taking him down. They were in such a hurry to use the taser and pepper spray, they ended up doing it to themselves. The cops did not try to de escalate the situation at any point in time. The victim did nothing to deserve any of the treatment he got. |
