If you don't like the original song, why would you like the cover? Really?

AB

Because covers can completely change a song.

Yep. Tell me this version doesn't just kick the original to the curb and curb stomp it.

Ok, I have to admit that version is also twisted enough to appeal to me.

See, I was going to post that one –– as a joke. Honestly, Gretchen sounds pretty much like Ann Wilson. So, you like this version and not the Heart version?

Although their actual cover-version of the song was rather "meh" in my opinion, the intro that was created for BSG was pretty cool.  I rather enjoyed when that bit of melody got stuck in my head.

And for these... it's not that I disliked the originals, it's just that I liked the cover-versions better.

Yes really added their own cool flare to the Simon & Garfunkle song
actually all of their cover songs were pretty cool.

Billy Joel's original song was OK, but Garth... just made it a much more powerful song.
(the only downside is that he then tried to be a rockstar and pretty much flopped with that "Chris Gains" shit)

Just off the top of my head, the cover by Molly Hatchet of The Allman Brothers "Dreams I'll Never See".  Blows the Allmans out of the water.

When it first came out, I didn't even realize it was a cover.  Only found that out about 15 years ago.
