I rather enjoyed when that bit of melody got stuck in my head. 
And for these... it's not that I disliked the originals, it's just that I liked the cover-versions better.
Yes really added their own cool flare to the Simon & Garfunkle song actually all of their cover songs were pretty cool.
Billy Joel's original song was OK, but Garth... just made it a much more powerful song. (the only downside is that he then tried to be a rockstar and pretty much flopped with that "Chris Gains" shit) |

Just off the top of my head, the cover by Molly Hatchet of The Allman Brothers "Dreams I'll Never See". Blows the Allmans out of the water.
