Most attorneys practicing long enough in criminal and traffic courts are going to run into people flipping out. I have had for myself or other attorneys I knew, have had clients flipping over tables, run out of the court even when chained together, fight with deputies, full on brawls, etc. You run into prosecutors who wig out too. Had one flip out when I wouldn't allow my client plead guilty to a theft charge. She didn't know i had read a note she left in her file that her witness was 500 miles away dying of cancer. She freaked. Had a client in city court for assault, started screaming in the court, called the judge a fucking bastard and got carried screaming out of the court by four cops who locked her in a broom closet till she calmed down. She got 10 days in jail for contempt. |

Obama wasn't even president, the guy was just ranting. I had a suspicion what was coming and quickly asked a follow up question asking what he said about Obama. The judge actually said my name and "No, stop!" Lol. She knew I was trying to provoke him. He started calling Obama an n word. Then he leapt up. I thought "here we go!" But he ran out the door. His lawyer glared at me and I almost started laughing. I forgot what happened in the end, I think the judge dismissed his case and told everyone to leave for lunch. He ran to the far end of the parking lot and was yelling. I walked out into a common area and a deputy said to me "you did this!" The other lawyer started to leave but I asked the deputy to come with us. He was yelling about his own lawyer (you could hear him yelling her name.) I turned to her. "Goes to show you. He's mad at you instead of me." She shrugged and walked to her car and drove off. But its a client. What good is it going to do to incarcerate a retard with 75 IQ who is incapable of learning and understanding vs an actual lawyer ? |
