[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Slovak SBRs anybody? Grand Power STRIBOG pistol to be imported to US UPDATE 18APR19 (Page 8 of 23)

Went from being not interested at all - to being VERY interested with a bunch of asterisks. Reservations / Questions:
Suggestions:
Good luck. I hope you have the gun I think you might have, and if you do, I hope you get it where it needs to be for the US market. EDIT: The dual mass seems to be a bit of marketing speak. It SEEMS to be a bolt with a lot of the weight above the barrel into the charging handle. So it's nothing special really, just two sections of the bolt in an L shape where the vertical part of the L is the charging handle support. The A3 appears to use a real delayed blowback method that seems to be still under development. |

I'd run one against my B&T APC9.
Wondering if I can tuck a Octane can under the handguard for the SD look. (Can't on my APC9, not about to fork over more $ for the SD version.) SD-C compatible?? Pic rail rear plate would be the tits, especially with Sig rattler stock. Would prefer top pic rail all the way, instead of integrated back ups, to drop on the Scorpion backups. |

Please direct your questions to the US importer on the specifics. I'm in Saudi Arabia, and as Jaro is very busy in Slovakia, it's hard for me to get time to talk to him. His English is better than my Slovak, but very specific questions like that are a bit hard for me to translate. |
|
Quoted: Those questions aren't for 'you'. I posted those to let other people know what to consider, ask, and my comments on what would make it a good product. If those get to GP or Eagle, great, that's who they're casually directed at. |

PSA has them for 900 now! Attached File |
Graham Baates has done a pretty good take-down video. The close-ups should show you the quality of Jaro's guys' work.

Someday I hope to have one of these and a GHM-9 to go with my Scorpion. Preferably all with Tailhook braces, suppressors and binary triggers. |

Anyone know how well these will suppress? What about replacement parts availability? As far as running suppressed, here is Rob Pincus with the US version running the PCC Steel Challenge: ![]() Grand Power Stribog Steel Challenge |

did you mean the US version does not have lrbho? It does not yet have the non-reciprocating charging handle. I talked to the guys at Eagle this morning, and they said they have started the process to get the "A3" style delayed blowback with the non-reciprocating charging handle, but it may take some time since it is not just a cosmetic tweak like the M-Lok slots were. Those were approved in a few days. This will take a bit longer. |

No clue, as that's between Jaro, the BATFE, and Eagle. All design modifications have to be approved by the ATF. The M-Lok approval happened in a few days. Basic operational method may take a bit longer. It's available as the SR9A3 in Europe, and on his select fire models. They don't have to worry about barrel length and all that garbage over there. The Russkies, Brazilians, and a few military organizations are ordering as many as he can make, right now. With the last round bolt hold open and reduced recoil impulse, they are very handy little subguns. We get the neutered version, but I would still love to be able to own one. Unfortunately, the Slovakian embargo against the Philippines is still in place, last I heard. |

Excuse the tangent, but why does Slovakia embargo the Philippines?

Remember the uproar over all the dead drug dealers since Duterte took over? All the lefties were screaming to boycott? Well, Slovakia did. Surprised me some, as it's a fairly conservative place for a former Communist country. I loved it there during my prolonged visit. Well, except for the 6 weeks in a hospital part. ![]() |
GB Guns made a vid showing it running through a whole slew of different ammo. It ate everything.

Why would you say this? If I'm not mistaken B&T was out well before the Stribog... Quoted:

Got mine today.
-Very nicely machined. -Plastic end cap sucks. I'll need to get something made in AL so I can mount a stock. -Factory mags fit great. Colt 9mm mags will lock in the gun but are very loose. I'm going to try and see if I can fire the gun with them but I'm betting they will fail to feed or fall out. Really doesn't matter as the factory mags are cheap, I just have a pile of colt mags. -Gun desperately needs a 45 degree selector, and slightly larger. -Charging handle is going to catch a lot of thumbs. I moved mine to the right side of the gun. -one of the best factory triggers I've tried in a long time. Honestly, if I could make one change it's to ship the gun with an AL back plate or at least offer one for sale for those of use who want to mount our own stocks. |

Wanna see something neat? Jaro just asked my opinion on this for .mil and .eu customers. Select fire, of course. The Stribog K (Name may change): https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/1232/Stribog_K-594348.jpg Dimensions in millimeters, of course.
