Do you make all your purchases based on looks alone? Quoted:

I'm not really impressed. That upper being so square makes it look a lot like a Hi-point. So, it doesn't have the most popular rail attachment system, it doesn't take readily available mags, and it looks like a hoodrat fotay. Meh. ETA: What is the thread pattern on the barrel? That's important too. I'd call all of those critical points to consider. I'm getting around to having my MAC converted to an Uzi grip in order to take readily available and reliable Uzi Mags. Thankfully, Richard Lage's uppers and accessories have let us have modern rails, foregrips, sights, and stocks. I'll still probably have to figure out how I can get a three-lug barrel without having to pin on an adapter. So, yeah, his concerns are VERY valid. I'd hardly call that "looks alone." |

I like it. I prefer key mod, but M Lok is what the market went with. Pistol brace is a must for the U.S. market. Given the lack of polymer aside from the lower, I highly doubt he is getting that below $1400. That puts him squarely in the "Fuck it, I'll get a B&T" area. Now if he can get it in the AR range $500-800 it might sell. Not many people will pay $1400 IMO. |

To be successful in a semi-auto PCC market, he is going to have to pick at least one of the following directions: 1- Price: He's going to have to make it cheap enough to draw from well-established competition. 2- Modular: He's going to have to have it compatible with existing accessory systems, or already have them in production. 3- Functionality: It is going to have to do something that his competition does not. He's got rails that will help with optics and sights. So good. I see a rail for a foregrip. Again... good. Stocks, he SOMEWHAT has covered. Yeah, it can add an AR adapter, which in my mind defeats the value of a compact PCC or SMG. I suppose, however, that a folding mechanism could be utilized. I, however, avoid putting buffer tubes on things that don't need buffer tubes. Magazines are a HUGE sticking point for me. A simple trapezoidal magazine would have been fine. At this time, the ONLY manufacturer of mags for my M10/9mm is RBP industries at $49.95 each. Expensive, but it is what it is. But some of us remember when it was practically impossible to get a reliable mag for the gun and paid $150 for original magazines. My point is that he'd do a LOT better in this market bringing something to market that didn't rely on a proprietary magazine. Uzi mags, Glock mags-- MUCH better options if he wanted to break into an unknown (to him) market. |

I'm not blaming anyone. Just saying, "What's the point of a semi-automatic 9mm carbine?" For me, all of those examples are of zero interest to me. I had an Uzi. Sold it because I realized I would never spend that much money to turn it into a Title II gun, and I damn sure wasn't going to wait for the ATF to reverse the Hughes Amendment part of FOPA. As a semi it was.... boring. |

Don't forget Kel-Tec, Roni Stabs. We're in the golden age of PCCs and price point is critical. I think this guy needs to fix it to take Glock mags; a proprietary mag only available from an unknown foreign manufacturer is going to make a lot of people reconsider. Otherwise, an adapter to use Glock or Colt SMG mags would work. The guy said some were using Uzi mags in an adapter, which are basically the same as Colt SMG mags. |

It’s A popular gun for Dynamic shooting here in the Netherlands. Also relative cheap; 995 euro’s ( ar’s are more expensive here and the 9x19 is way cheaper than 223 rounds) |

If priced right I'd consider it. Hughes Amendment can get fooked btw. These types of firearms are where full auto is actually useful. Except Semi-auto fire. Semi-auto with an open bolt is ... challenging. But I can't think of why I would use Semi., so it works out. |

Personally, i have zero interest in a PCC without a happy switch.
That said, since your friend is reading the thread, i will offer a free plug for the Grand Power line of pistols. Fantastic line of high quality pistols at a great price point. I own two, and they are among my favorite 9mms (and I own about 40 to compare them to). Great triggers for a production gun, and a reset that is legitimately 1911 short. Check them out, if you haven't. ETA: Mr. CEO, an optional flat trigger for the K100 series would make those guns just about perfect. |

Quoted: How is it possible this gun will be priced anywhere near the price point of the X-Calibur? I would assume the X-Calibur would be much cheaper to manufacture... |

Redesign it to take colt mags and bring it in as a rifle. I want something that's easy to SBR. Engrave it and cut the barrel once approved. No 922 bullshit to worry about. I want the folding stock as well.
The entire reason these guns get brought in as pistols is because of 922R. As a rifle it cannot be brought in as configured, unless enough US parts get added, ala 922R. What you are asking for would significantly increase prices. I'll just stick a brace on it and be happy. |

Eegle Imports raised the price for all Grand Power pistols when they took over. I bet the MSRP will be the street price for STRIBOG. I have a Grand Power pistol (newer gen) but I'll be damned if I was going to pay $500+ for it. I ended up buying one for $400 out the door. Same reason I'm not stupid enough to pay $700 for an Arex Zero One T. Quoted:

Do you know what delay mechanism the A3 uses? I am not a factory representative, I'm just a friend of the guy. I'm in the desert in another country on opposite shifts, so we don't get to talk a lot. I just thought folks would be interested, and I like to see a good guy do well. Unpaid shill.

Above 800 i wont give a blow back 9mm another look when 9mm ARs are so cheap. It'll all come down to price point. I've seen some commercial DI gas operated .45 acp AR uppers. But not 9mm. |
|
Quoted: Maybe I misread that but... I was under the impression that 9mm ARs were pretty much all blowback as well, aside from some diy/experimental stuff? I've seen some commercial DI gas operated .45 acp AR uppers. But not 9mm. There are a few DI 9mm around except you need to hand load for them. They won't run factory ammo. |
|
Quoted: You are correct. The sig MPX is gas operated. There are a few DI 9mm around except you need to hand load for them. They won't run factory ammo. |

Link please? I would really like to get into a 9mm AR but I was kind of waiting for a good DI version. Don't really want to mess with blowback. I'm set up to hand load 9mm already, so that's not a problem. Quoted:

He says it uses a "dual mass bolt". It's the A1 that is being imported at this time, though. I am not a factory representative, I'm just a friend of the guy. BTW: It uses a barrel nut for easy change/removal. I have posted a question about muzzle thread pitch. ETA: About the 1/2"x28 thread pitch: "Yes. No problem. Thread according request |
