Jaro's Glock lower is in the works. It may be a while, and it will also have to go through ATF approval. He's got the IWA trade show and the Army's SCWS contract bid on the front burner right now. There's a number of fine pistol caliber carbines / sub guns already on the market, almost all of which have more name recognition (and are easier to pronounce) plus have more aftermarket support. But, a PCC that takes Glock mags, has a folding stock, and is under $1000? Thats a incredibly desirable weapon that dosn't yet exist on the market. |

Quoted: Its not about cost, its about availability. ... Single feed notwithstanding, we've had 30+ years of Glock mags working just fine in weapons that cycle at 1200rpm in all manner of conditions. Its the most extensively proven polymer 9x19 mag in the world. Standardization is a good thing Standardization is a good thing, but there’s a reason we have both the usb AND the micro usb. Double feed mags are inherently more reliable. The rounds don’t need to rotate to move into single file. Glocks and other double stack, single feed mags are incredibly reliable and work great for what is asked of them: to be a rarely used (in serious situations) civilian or police defensive primary weapon or a likely never used military sidearm and in a pistol action. They may be able to fire at that rate, but they certainly aren’t designed to for an extended period of time and will fail far sooner than a true rifle or subgun. Otherwise SWAT and SF units around the world could save loads of money they would have spent on those MP5s by just buying Glock 18s with a chassis. It ultimately comes down to what you see these subguns as: big pistols or small rifles. If you want a fun plinker, target gun, or a good back up, save some cash and get a Ruger, Kel-Tec or Extar EP-9. If you want a semi-auto version of a weapon of war that can serve as a primary weapon in a pinch, this, MP5, Uzi, etc. are the way to go, and part of that is the magazine feed system. |

Those are the exact issues I had/have. Phil is great to work with and he and I have been talking through this. Question, are the first two numbers on your serial number 57 by any chance? Quoted:
Quoted: Finally got a chance to try to install my HBI kit yesterday. Or at least try to install, it is a no go. Bolt to Carrier fit is too tight. I was able to hammer it in but then it would not allow the bolt to align properly. Bolt was actually at a slight angle (not parallel to the carrier). Non reciprocating delrin piece was also an issue. The charging handle hole was too small causing a very tight fit and the hole was too high which caused the charging handle to drag along the top of the slot. I am going got reach out to them tomorrow. Question, are the first two numbers on your serial number 57 by any chance? |

I’ve got one of these on the wall at my shop, I’m really wishing I could take it home. I’m not finding mags anywhere and my distributor told me that they were under the impression importation is stopping. Can somebody please tell me this is wrong? I really want to pick one of these up, but now isn’t a good time, and I’ll need spare mags. |

Grand Power just changed import companies - they were coming in through Eagle Imports, and will now be coming in through Global Ordnance. That’s what is causing the temporary mag shortage, but hopefully once the Global shipments start arriving, that problem will solve itself. Supposedly, there will be a revised mag with steel feed lips as well, but I haven’t seen a timeframe on those. It looks like the new A3 version is going to be a couple hundred more than the current A1, so if you can get a deal on one, I say jump. ETA: I received my second set of parts from HBI, and it’s a mixed bag. I should have some pics and more details posted shortly. |

I get your point on availability. Keep in mind, we are early adopters. Scorpion mags were hard to come by initially too, now we have Pmags. Also, in the event of an emergency, as others have pointed out, other common mags can be modified to work in a Stribog. Standardization is a good thing, but there’s a reason we have both the usb AND the micro usb. Double feed mags are inherently more reliable. The rounds don’t need to rotate to move into single file. Yeah, Glock mags are so marvelous you need a tool to load them in any quantity because of the force required. |

HBI Update. I know that a few folks here have had issues with the new HBI Non-reciprocating bolt carrier upgrade, so I thought I would share my experience so far. I recommend reading through the last couple of pages of this thread, but the short version is, the first kit I received had issues in my Stribog. The HBI carrier was extremely tight in the receiver channel, causing it to bind. It was worse when the bolt was installed in the carrier, and the bolt/carrier assembly was so tight, it couldn't be fully inserted. There was also an issue with the Delrin charging handle insert binding up and being difficult to move, even with no carrier installed. It was non-functional as shipped. https://i.imgur.com/t6MJzxH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PgMzMNQ.jpg I contacted HBI and they have been extremely responsive and great to deal with. I was one of the first customers to receive the kit, and I don't they were expecting any issues as the kit worked perfectly in their test gun. These things can happen with a new product release, and so far, they have gone to great lengths to get to the bottom of the problem and that says a lot about their company, and Phil in particular. They sent me a replacement carrier and charging block which arrived on Friday, and I finally had time to really focus on it yesterday. After comparing the first and second carrier against the factory carrier, it was apparent that the new HBI carrier had a much more aggressive chamfer on the exterior corners, which more closely matched the profile of the factory carrier. The first HBI carrier had a much shallower chamfer, and it appears that it was causing it to bind against the inner corners of the receiver channel. First HBI carrier: https://i.imgur.com/jRmNQvZ.jpg?1 Modified HBI carrier: https://i.imgur.com/cCG82xQ.jpg?1 The modified HBI carrier travels smoothly in the receiver, with zero binding. The combined HBI carrier and factory bolt also work perfectly, so that appears to have solved the issue. My only concern is that the additional machining appears to have been done after the nitriding process, but since I assume that this was a test carrier, the final piece should not have this issue. I know they expedited the modified kit so that I could test it, so I'm not worried about it. The issue with the Delrin charging handle block appears to be the charging handle hole - it's slightly off-center, which forces the charging handle to bind against the upper edge of the receiver slot. https://i.imgur.com/fjJy3BW.jpg I've already emailed HBI with my results and additional images, and I'm hoping that this will assist them with any future kits or issues moving forward. I really can't say enough positive things about the way HBI has handled everything so far, so if you are on the fence about the upgrade, I wouldn't worry - they'll make it right if you have a problem. Good luck and Stribog on... I’m glad your both and carrier assembly is good to go, mine will not close all the way into battery but gets close, the only thing I could think of is to have the dovetail tolerances loosened up, my factory original carrier and bolt go together by hand, I think the looser tolerances help it get settled in properly |
|
Quoted: Ok so the charging handle piece, I had the SAME issue with the second one that came, but of course Phil sent two and one of them did work I’m glad your both and carrier assembly is good to go, mine will not close all the way into battery but gets close, the only thing I could think of is to have the dovetail tolerances loosened up, my factory original carrier and bolt go together by hand, I think the looser tolerances help it get settled in properly Can you tell if your modified carrier has the same deeper chamfer, or did they try something different with yours? |
|
Quoted: My factory bolt needed some moderate tapping with a poly hammer to remove from the factory carrier, but a little more force was needed to get it seated properly in both the HBI carriers. That being said, mine is brand new, with only the factory test rounds through it so I'm sure everything is tight. On the charging block, he only sent one extra with the modified carrier, and while it was a little better than the first one, it's still binding. Can you tell if your modified carrier has the same deeper chamfer, or did they try something different with yours? Problem I had with my first order was not that the carrier didn’t flow freely, by itself it did and so did all the others, it’s just that the alignment of the bolt itself is so damn finicky it will not go all the way closed, I believe that has everything to do with the dovetail tolerances, and I think that should be loosened up a bit |
|
I think the very next thing HBI should introduce for the Stribog is a ambi, oversized charging handle. Get one that fits perfect in their non-recip bolt and gives you a nice grippable area. It’s also the last thing required to make this a truly ambi gun and as an ambidextrous person, I would really dig that! |

Damn it, it's barely 2019 and I've got a lynx 12 on the way, a sig 1911 on layaway, in the middle of a sopmod clone build and now I'm head over heals for the Stribog I have serious issues. Sub'd PS |

Phil is getting me the new parts by Friday, looking like they did some work on the dovetail portion I’m incredibly impressed with the way HBI, and especially Phil, have handled everything. Amazing customer support - they want everything to be perfect, not just in their test pistol, but in YOUR gun. I can’t recommend them enough, and I think this is going to be a great solution. They may also be working on other Stribog projects as well, which sounds promising. |
I saw Global had linked this video to their FB feed, from Graham Baates.

| Man I’m tired of people jerking off glock mags here. Get one of the 10000 ar9 variants or a sub2000. Good for Cz for sticking with their magazines. They made them cheap and available. Hopefully grandpower does the same. Glock mags look like shit, at least the proprietary ones don’t. They did it right too, if you’re gonna go proprietary, make them cheap. |

Same here, but for me it’s charging block version 3. Based on my correspondence with Phil, this one should do it, then it’s a couple weeks for the final modified carriers to get nitrided, assuming no surprises. I’m incredibly impressed with the way HBI, and especially Phil, have handled everything. Amazing customer support - they want everything to be perfect, not just in their test pistol, but in YOUR gun. Global just posted this, from my FB feed:
A Note from Global Ordnance regarding 30 round Grand Power Stribog Magazine availability:
We have had a bunch of requests for the 30 round Stribog Magazines and are well aware of the lack of availability currently. We have already placed orders for more from Grand Power. As soon as they arrive we will be making them available to everyone who already has a Stribog FIRST. We are simply waiting on export paperwork. Grand Power has already produced them and they are ready to ship as soon as paperwork clears. |

HBI kit received today, ordered on Sunday. Parts look great and the fit and function was as expected... Think they have the bugs worked out. It took 4-5 bolts to do it but damn that was some stellar customer service, glad I was able to provide input too. |

Good support of carrier makes a huge difference installing the bolt. |

Quoted: So how will they know who owns one already? Require copy of Sales receipt or proof of serial #? Sounds like some fuckery from the start off from G.O.! Global is a little different maybe than what you've dealt with before. The short answer. No, you won't need a sales receipt No, you won't need a serial number Yes, you'll have to be in a state that allows high-capacity magazines The long answer. Just for clarity: where we posted "As soon as they arrive we will be making them available to everyone who already has a Stribog FIRST" what was intended and we thought was pretty clear by the tone of the post in it's entirety (but maybe we missed the mark) was, "WE ARE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE EXISTING GRAND POWER CUSTOMERS WHO WANT 30 RD STRIBOG MAGAZINES FIRST BEOFRE FILLING ANY DEALER/DISTRIBUTOR ORDERS" The assumption being:
In the now mere 2 weeks or so since Global took over as US Distributor of the brand we've heard from hundreds of customers and we have definitely listened. Rest assured Global Ordnance is here to fully support the entire Grand Power line 100%. We ask that you bear with us during this transition as it does take a little time to move paperwork for thousands of guns (yes, THOUSANDS) and all the parts to support them both from the European export side and US import side. Global has committed to bringing in more Grand Power product in 2019 alone than has been brought in to the US in all previous years COMBINED. That's a bigger undertaking and commitment than most probably realize. To that end, it doesn't matter when or where you bought your Stribog, it's a Grand Power product and we're going to support it. It also doesn't matter if you are the first or 3rd owner, what we care about is supporting the Grand Power brand and it's customers in the US. We're trying very hard to provide the highest level of service and transparency to those of you who already have Grand Power product before we worry about filling dealer and distributor shelves. Hopefully that helps explain it a little more fully and as always we are actually available to you to answer these questions with real live human beings standing by to assist you in any way possible on the phone or via email, whatever is easiest for you. No guesswork needed, no hidden agendas, no hoops to jump through and definitely no "f*ery" Thanks, Global Ordnance Grand Power USA 941-549-8388 x 111 [email protected]

The set that arrived today was absolutely perfect - glass-smooth, with no binding whatsoever. The machining and finish work was perfect, and everything cycles just as it should - I can't wait to get out to the range this weekend and see how she does. And I absolutely agree on their customer service - I don't know that I've ever had any firearms-related company offer better service, period. Phil was nothing short of amazing, between his excellent communication and running custom one-off parts as test pieces, I never once got the feeling that I was a hassle or a problem. He legitimately wanted to get everything up and running, and wasn't going to drop it until he did. If you have any doubts about this mod or HBI, don't - it's a great mod, and now that the initial issues have been worked out, you shouldn't have an issue. If you do, they will absolutely get you taken care of. |

Ok so put about 199 rounds downrange yesterday
-No malfunctions -HBI bolt is AWESOME, having the ability to put the thumb up on this guy was great -gun is very accurate, more than me for sure -the factory flip up sights were dead on at 25 yards, I tested that through my cowitness -all magazines, 20’s and 30’s functioned perfectly —>I cannot be happier with this While good, there’s things I want to improve: -My last string of 20 rounds was not accurate and I thought my shitty cheap ass red dot base might be loose, even after loctite, got home and moved it by hand... damn it, so now I’m in the market for a solid low mount, I think ADM’s QD or something else, maybe MI, anybody have suggestions? -I need to my AR tube into a folder so I can make it compact, any suggestions on an affordable AR folder mod? I think I’m going this route -I could do both options above or wait for Safety harbor’s collapsible Brace and get a higher mount for the red dot Thoughts? |
