Called after seeing this thread as my truck was on a 6 month promo until next month. Got the 12 for $60 on my truck. I asked about my wife’s car which we renewed at the same time as my truck for something like 12 for $130. Dude credited me back the $70 that was left on her subscription and put her car in the same 12/60 plan for a total of $4.

First time I have ever gotten that kind of service from them I was shocked.

The lifetime rate will only allow you to change the ID number of your car radio a specific amount of times.

I don't know if there is a restriction for streaming.

Best to read the fine print.

3 times. I'm on my last switch and am ready to purchase a new vehicle.
I'm trying to figure out if I can negotiate an extension to my "lifetime" account?

I haven't had it for several years but a month ago the local Walmart had a radio for $19.xx so I bought it.  I used to do the $25\5 & $30\6 game so I searched online to see what I could get for a new subscription.  $30\6 or $50\6 with all online channels.  I figured I'd try the $50 because I get WiFi and both jobs.

I'm usually a podcast guy but I knew we'd be taking two vacations this summer plus my wife would taking the kids on two overnights in my van for spring break.  She's the real reason I bought the XM.

After the first trip, she wants one for her shitty car.  I'm thinking of giving her mine and getting better one or just give her mine since she'll be buying a new car this summer and it will likely come with it.  I can use the online streaming while at work and she can have it when she drives.

The funny part is she never drives her car for more than four miles

$60 for a year.  But that was when their sound quality was still somewhat acceptable.  I wouldn't use it now if it was free.  The sound quality is ridiculously bad.

Why not just use Spotify and/or podcasts?

Just renegotiated the deluxe package from $329 to $108, every channel Sirius has for one year.

XM can be used pretty much anywhere in the US.  No internet connection needed.  Easy enough to rig up at a cabin in the middle of nowhere as long as you have 12vdc.

That said, I'm usually a podcast person over music. I do not care about sports at all, although I used to listen to a bunch of comedy on XM before the merger fucked up most of the channels and the comedians they played.  XM 168 faired well because they weren't affected.

This thread verified that I'm paying WAY too fucking much for me and my wife.

Got to find the renewal date before it auto renews so I can work out a better price. That said, I love it. Listen to the Patriot Channel and Andrew Wilkow every day.

If you subscribe to XM, and don't know who Andrew Wilkow is, you should punch yourself in the face several times.

I cancelled.
They keep raising the rates.
Spent 4$ on a 3ft aux cord. Pandora gets used.
I commute 80 miles.
Xm was nice but I'm being cheap... already pay for unlimited data on my phone.

After they left my free trial on for 9 months rather than 3 I was offered something like 6 months for $3, in 2016.

Since then I've paid $5/month plus taxes. I drive enough that it's worth it to me.

The last time I called them I was renewing for 3 vehicles.  After going through a few of the people there (I was pissed) I got to someone who was in charge (supposedly).  I told that mother fucker that the goddamn satellite if fucking paid for!  It doesn't cost you shit to beam that shit down to my fucking vehicles!  They must have had me on speaker because I heard at least 10 fucking people laughing.

Ended up getting 3 vehicles for a year for $80 total.

I believe I got a year for $80-90.  Ive been on that for about 3 years now.  The only issue is to remember to call them back before it "renews" as it goes back to the $30 a month of whatever bullshit overpriced not worth it BS they charge per month.

I quit in Oct.  Just got an offer for $5 a month, 12 mos., so $72 with tax etc.  This was an email offer and no call required, just signup.

I will have to try the 12 months for $60.  I though 1 year for $90 was good.

I pay for XM simply for the Patriot channel.

5 months for $25, 6 months for $25 or 6 months for $30. Let it expire and within a week you'll get one of those offers.

I only have the app on my phone and stream through my work computer. I wanted MLB on my phone so I called them and they said I have to have the account attached to a car radio to get MLB. I told them I sold that car and I dont have a car with a sirius radio. They are now sending me a free radio, free shipping. When I get the radio they said call and we will give you the app, streaming and radio for the 6 month deal, 5 bucks a month. Free radio, sweet

I just had them go ahead and cancel mine, the guy on the phone didn't get lower than something like $6.90 a month, and telling me that if I canceled, I would have to pay a $15 activation fee if I ever wanted to come back.  I figured I'd take my chances and see what happens.

This, you just have to tell them you want to drop them.  Mention that you don't listen much due to Pandora or some other service.  PITA to call every 6 months, but we do it, calendar is marked.

Same here. I get all access for $50/6 months
I said can you do a year for $100 so I don't have to call every 6 months. He said no I can do a year for $140...I said this 5 minute phone call is worth the $40 I talk to you on August 20th. Lol

Saw a year for 60 a few months ago, still didn't bite.
The best negotiation is letting it lapse..
