Why do those of you that posted pics have 2 (or more) of the same gun?  Like why 5 Garands?  Why 50 million Lugars?

Collectors will want to get different Lugers or Garands from the different factories or various specific years of manufacture.

ETA: I'd give my left-nut to get a Luger from Abercrombie & Fitch (yes they do exist)

What!? Please explain this!

Abercrombie & Fitch Co was founded in 1892, and were basically a big expedition/upper-class sportsman retailer.  They sold a few A&F branded Lugers that are quite rare, in fact that list of Luger values that P08 posted actually lists the Abercrombie & Fitch Luger as being worth 5,000-8500 (the last one I saw for sale was going for 15k).

The prices in that list are several (10+) years old.

My S&W K-frames

And

A pair of LE No4 MkI*'s (and some other rifles)

And a matching pair of pistol cases...

To have done this right, I'd have taken that 1957 vintage M37 Airweight out of the box and taken it's pic next to the early 60's M37 3"SB.

If those are transferables, that is roughly half a million dollars worth of Thompsons.

And probably the same amount in drums above.

Me personally, I don't have enough money to have matching guns yet. Maybe some day.

Not a good picture, but these are my "matched" german military handguns.

(Although I do believe one of the broomhandles may be a very good Chinese copy from the same period.)

Bastard? Yes, but I'm no lying bastard, even on the internet.  The closest I could come to this picture is posing my one-and-only Thompson between two mirrors.  These are 1921 Colt Thompsons and are indeed from a private collection. So "right-click & save" your hearts out!!

P08, you're still the king of this thread, so far.

Thanks.  Only time can tell if the Experts achieve any sort of "collectible" status.

H&K USA's USP Expert web page no longer mentions the 9mm version as being available, yet the photo that's used IS the 9mm version.  H&K's equivalent German web page shows all of the three calibers we're familiar with.  This makes me wonder if H&K is dropping off one caliber at a time from being exported to America.

H&K went wild with all of the USP variants. With all of the discontinued announcements, I didn't know that the Expert was still in their lineup.  I've got a SS USP45F and when H&K announced that they would be discontinued, my first USP became just another safe queen.  That's the one I'd like to have turned into a matching set.

I kind of liked the H&K USP Match variant (even before Tomb Raider), but was focused mainly on H&K's pre-USP models at the time.  I think your Experts will definitely increase in value.  There are too many H&K nuts out there, as documented by this thread (Hats off to quijanos for getting one in each color).

'Bout damned time some Colt Collectors came out of hiding!  I like it!
I'll give your Colt presentation a 95.  I'll have to subtract 5 points for lack of a pair of SAA Colts.

Tell us about the snub-noses.  What got you started?  Any stories behind any of these guns? I do like to see collections that include stuff you don't normally see.  Thanks.

I started collecting Colts a few years ago because I needed some revolvers in my collection and Colts didn't show up used around here that often; little did I know that in three years I found most of the above plus a few more (25+ total) and a couple rifles(6).

My bank account hasen't been the same since.

LOL!  How 'bout an upgraded score of 125?  Definately extra credit for the Anacondas.  With the Colts that you showed us first, I thought you might have at least one SAA. I've only got one and it is a safe queen (blued 4-3/4" bbl - manufactured in 1977 with original box & manual).  I had to buy a Ruger Vaquero to have something that I could actually play with.
