Ronin sucked really fucking bad. What a waste of two hours. That's all.
In that case I do not recommend Spartan, Heat, or Man on Fire.

Its funny that no matter how drunk a person is, they can still type "fuck you" without error. |

I agree. I watched it once and was done with it. |

DeNiro: OMG BASTARD SPRAYED THE BULLET WITH TEFLON
other dude: IS THAT WHY IT WENT THROUGH TEH VEST?!?!OMGLOL DeNiro: YEAH |
I love endings in movies the leave you with questions. Mostly because it pisses off people who need neatly wrapped and packaged endings where everything is explained to them. I enjoy watching them suffer.
"What was in the box!!??!!!?!" "Did the guy answer the phone or drop the rifles in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels??!?!?" "What did Bill Murray say to Scarlett Johannsen in Lost In Translation?!?!?!" Love it. |
I watch it over and over again just to see DeNiro fire the SIG.
Great action flick imo. Love the Niger gag. |
MacGuffin. |

You might as well have just said "Reagan Sucked" if all you wanted to do was get a rise out of people here. |

best gun/car chase movie ever!
[gov ventura] bunch of slack jawed faggots.... [/gov ventura] eta: yeah, the teflon thing sucked. |
I loved Heat and Man on Fire and haven't seen Spartan, but I still stand by Ronin sucking. Except for the beginning when we are being introduced to DeNiro's character, which was cool (the coffee cup ambush comes to mind). The heist itself was pretty cool, and the car chases were decent. But then there was just endless euro-fagginess, and boringness, and blah.... |

"Ronin" is one of the greatest movies ever made. But, you have to be able to follow a story.
Its OK to be wrong. And in this case, you're OK. |

I agree. Great movie. Great plot. Great action. Great car chases. Great gun selection. Ok the teflon comment sucked but hey still makes for an almost perfect movie. Whoever does not like Ronin should stick with watching Jean-Claude Vandam movies. Note all that coming from a Belgian guy. |
uh oh ... |
Son, go back to your Meg Ryan movies, and leave this sort of movie to the men with two (2) testicles. |
I disagree...
I thought it was a good movie and everyone is entitled to their opinion. HOWEVER... NO ONE BETTER SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT JOHN WAYNE!!!!! |
Muscle memory. |

It would help, if you knew what was of which you spoke.................. .............But clearly you do not........................... |

Spence: You ever kill anybody?
Sam: No, but I hurt someones feelings once. I thought Ronin was better than Heat, hows that for stirring the pot. |

Not dealing with the dialogue from the movie...
just the "teflon" bullet... About 30 years ago there was a company named KTW. KTW made armor piercing ammunition for pistol caliber weapons. It was a bronze bullet if I recall correctly an it had a "teflon" coating to reduce the friction of the thing being pushed out the barrel upon firing. It really did not pierce armor because of the teflon, though it could have been a factor when shoot through metal. It was the fact the bullet was solid and would not deform. So... there is a "little" correctness to the teflon coated bullet refered to in the movie. It was a reference to KTW armor piercing ammunition. It was originally sold to LE agencies and military, but was banned as armor piercing ammo and I think that ended the availability of KTW ammo. I used to have some, it was very expensive, something like one or two dollars a round in the mid to late 1970s. If you needed to kill a car... that stuff would do it!!! It would trash an engine block if hit in many places that were not so thick |
Ronin was okay the first time I watched it.......only thing it really had going for it were some of the cool guns.......the plot was seriously lacking. And it a couple good one-liners. That's it.

+1 What a POS! |
Ronin had its moments, but its over-rated.
If for nothing other than the worlds worst ambush. Anyone else see something wrong with a 15KM kill zone? |
Some of you that say "Well I liked the gun play, car chases, and etc etc" what the hell do you want in a movie? Do you want the TV to give you a BJ while you're watching?
It kept you from being bored for two hours, geez lighten up. It's for entertainment, don't get so worked up over it because OH SHIT! hollywood embellished some facts a little and used creative license. I bet you go to sci-fi movies and yell BULLSHIT when someone get's teleported down to some planet don't you. |
