Not so much the post, but the credibility behind the post. If the person has a high rating then you can put stock in what they say. If they have a shit rating then you know there's a good chance they are full of shit.

I think the rating system would only really work in the technical forums though. It would be pretty pointless for people to be able to be rated in the GD.

That or have a different bars for different ratings.

They can have a high rating in their political and historical knowledge, maybe a medium rating in their legal knowledge but not much point on their technical firearms technical knowledge.

Probably a better way to go. Would be pointless if people are get a high rating because they post good pictures in the BOTD threads or other useless crap like that.
