The cause of that crash is that the pilot was an arrogant cocksucker who was an outstanding pilot but demonstrated abominable airmanship and judgement. His lifetime goal was to roll a B52. It got to
the point that many people who had flown with him REFUSED to fly with him again UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES. The crew that was flying with him at the time included his senior officers and
they were apparently about to clip his wings permanently for his antics....but unfortunately, not
soon enough for any of them.
That crash caused some very profound changes in the culture of the U.S. Air Force, and hopefully
no pilots with such bad judgement will ever stay in the cockpit very long again.
Do some Googling and you'll find lots of info on this crash and the circumstances surround it.
It's very interesting reading and more than a bit shocking. You have to wonder how a pilot
who was such a good stick and yet had such bad judgement could have stayed in the cockpit
for so long.

I'll bet the B-52 was using spoilers for roll control true to the real thing and the modeler had no experience flying such a craft. That is what crashed the B-52 at that airshow a while back. You can see the that aircraft stall into the turn when the pilot tried to recover.
