That picture looks fake. The eyes dont look real and the skin looks like it was cut, not ripped.

Dude, I have seen quite a bit of photos of heads with extremely nasty wounds thanks to this great Internet. The wierd thing is when a head is blown open it seems to lose its rigidity... its very odd. Check out other pictures at rotten.com if you wish. I for one have seen enough.

This guy got a more merciful quick death then the poor souls at the WTC & Pentagon. He didn't hear or feel a thing, some of those follks at the WTC/Pentagon suffered a slow horendous horrible death. I am surprised that there is any reconizable part of the head left, I have seen a head shoot that was totally and completely blown away the head.

Roger that. I saw this guy's head come clean off by a .50 cal. when he was running a roadblock. He did have part of his right, lower jaw left though. A .50 cal. will f*ck you up.

Looks like the entry wound is just above the right eye, coming in diagonally and exiting in the back left. Just about the right placement for a rapid loss of motor function with no involuntary spasms.

Why does a head lose its rigidity when shot like that? Two words - Hydrostatic Shock. Look at it like this...

There is a good deal of blood in the brainpan, as well as a layer of Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF,) and the brain tissue itself is fairly spongy and saturated with CSF. Fluids don't compress. Most of the fluid will press against the inside of the cranium (the weak direction - it's stronger from the outside...) This will rupture the structure from the inside and wreck most of the skull's integrity. What a mess - Rich, Red, and Chunky...
