Lame. Why buy this over a tisas or rock? I love 1911s, but there is no reason to buy a PSA one instead of whatever other bargain brand.

Give us a 2011 that takes glock/dagger mags for $799 or stfu. Also, where MP5, where krink, where jakl 9, etc?
View Quote

Agreed. Just skip the BS and offer us a poor mans Staccato that takes Glock mags.

I think Century/MKE and the weak Turkish lira killed the PSA MP5. I’m not upset about it.

That's easy... RIA 1911s always look a little wonky around the trigger cut out. PSA's frame is closer to the truth.

ETA apparently they are made by RIA... glad they finally got the frame contour correct above the trigger.

The mp5 was supposed to be under a grand wasn't it, the turk clones are still around 1300.

Honestly I was getting the impression that the MP5 was gonna turn into the jakl 9, but I'm starting to think neither is gonna happen.

To say nothing of the promised dragunovs...

I looked at it.  Not quite enough to tempt me away from the dark side w my Glocks, but it's interesting.   I've got 1911s.  I used to carry them and shot them quite a bit growing up.  I like the way they feel in my hand, but the ugly guns w/ no soul are light, carry easy, hold lots of ammo, and seem almost impervious to rust.

Finally, someone notices this thick, seemingly "out of spec" contour of Armscor 1911s.  Major turnoff for me.  Makes the normally sleek 1911 look chunky.

Springfield only does that stuff before the launch.

PSA's Admiral might be the "coolest 1911 ever" or it could be just another run of the mill 1911-- guess will never know with that picture.

Just to confirm, the A1 model is on their labor day email ads for $399 (with "reg $499" indicated), tactical is $499.

I've been wanting a 1911, though I was eyeing Tisas - I'll probably get one of these tactical models eventually to support PSA...

Yes, which is why I specifically mentioned the lowered and flared ejection port. Not sure if you’ve noticed or not but the old GI-spec 1911 is not exactly the “standard” for the platform these days

I don't mind paying a little extra but why is it so difficult just to sell a blued 1911 for a good deal?

No bells and whistles, Turkish is fine, but a glossy blue, not more parkerized or matte black that we already have 100 options in this price range.

There is countless videos on youtube of guys in India or Bangladesh in flip flops hand polishing stuff so don't tell me it's too time consuming.

If you can weld a broken diesel crankshaft and hand polish it, I don't think a small 1911 frame will give you that much issues.

You have Tisa, RIA, Springfield, Palmetto, etc... and they just keep making more redundant models.

Just a deep blued 1911 GI spec. That's it.

Right now there is that Colt Royal blue 1911 and nothing else under $1000.

Why not a offer a new 1911 that doesn't have comparable competition rather than the same model that 10 manufacturers offer?

Don’t get me wrong I get your annoyance, I’m still waiting on S&W, Ruger, or Colt to develop a modern top-break revolver in .357 Magnum. All eight of us who want one are getting pretty damn impatient about it, too

"The Palmetto State Armory Admiral Series is a line of 1911 Handguns exclusively made for PSA by Rock Island Armory. This handgun blends timeless aesthetics with contemporary functionality, catering to both firearm enthusiasts and collectors seeking a reliable and versatile sidearm."

That quote is on the main PSA page for these guns right in the middle in big print.

But RIA offers a hard chrome model. I personally know of a few 1911 fans that would jump on a glossy blued 1911 Tisa or RIA.

I can't imagine a hard chromed 1911 is in higher demand than a blued one.

The blued Colts are always sold out too.
